I really don't like the way Nintendo and their gamers are treated by their own magazines and websites.

Take this website for example, where is the review for Batman arkham origins or deus ex ? but yet they find time and make the effort to review any irrelevant garbage they find on the 3ds eshop

101 penguin pets ? really ! or we get news about some kid baking a nintendo cake or something.

And then look at ONM, every cover for their magazine HAS to have mario or animal crossing, even when they give away a poster or free gift it's always something a 5 year old would want. Now that's all good and well, but can't they mix it up a little ?.

I find that this is part of the problem, don't get me wrong, I like mario, zelda and most of the other nintendo games to bits, but it would be nice to see some of the Wii U's other games get some attention to.

When joe average walks into his local news agent, all he will ever see is Nintendo's mascots pasted on the front cover, or when he clicks onto a Nintendo website all he finds is 101 eshop pets or pikmin party or how an 8 year old has decorated his room like the mushroom kingdom.

I really do believe that this is all part of nintendo's problem.

If NintendoLife does not receive an advance copy of the game, they cannot review it before it hits shelves. Just look up the game on Metacritic, where there are posted reviews for both games.

As for the news catering to a young audience, I think you're going out of your way to see it that way. NintendoLife reports on pretty much anything relevant to Nintendo, from a kid baking a Nintendo cake to interviews with developers and opinions from stock analysts.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

I guess you missed the articles on the 3DS getting a H-game and ecchi fighter... and apparently all the daily articles about sales, interviews, industry trends and random douche with opinion on Nintendo as a company. I'm not sure what it is exactly that you want NL to report on when they basically report everything (about Nintendo) there is? And yes, considering Nintendo is a kid friendly company this is of course going to include things that would appeal to a young audience.

And some people actually do like reading reviews about indie and small download titles on the eshop... because some people actually buy them. No harm on having a good laugh at something awful or finding out that so-so looking title you were eyeing is actually a hidden gem.

I couldn't agree more. Deux Ex and Origins should have had reviews day one. Metacritic has no reviews for Wii U's Batman, and I expect it will be the same with ACIV.

I guess the OP doesn't realise that Nintendo Life is just a glorified blog

Never said it wasn't awesome!

Although, to be fair, and in relation to the OP, it is very slow sometimes. I've seen news here days after everywhere else.....

It's not fast on news... It is actually mostly about reviews, with more emphasis on digital than retail.

It's their duty to review whatever they deem necessary, whether it be what you believe to be kiddy, or whatever. Deal with it. On a less serious note:

You do realize there are quite a lot of people working for this site, right? Someone out of them will probably be working on a rview for Batman probably right now, as well as somebody else working on Deus Ex. So what should all the others be doing before those reviews are done? Not post anything, just beacuse you want to see some specific reviews first?
Plus, why should everybody care about your preferences. We all know that Batman and Deus Ex are going to be great games. But with all these smaller eShop games, they're a bag of surprises. Some are terrible, some mediocre and some turn out to be surprisingly good. Without reviews, we would never know. And you know, you're talking about how fed up you are, because allegedly you're not getting reviews for the games you're interested in and don't want to see any reviews for games you personally are not interested in. Guess what: Other people want to read them and might be interested in those games. Why should you and only you get your will? Plus, we all know that Batman and Deus Ex will get reviews here, anyway. So what the heck is all this fuss even about?

Or Lego Marvel, A fantastic game that's burning up Miiverse. I haven't been able to put it down.

Reggie, you can't use NL as your primary source for Nintendo info, for some of the reasons you mention, and because of the click bait articles and fan bashing. A couple of my favorites are...

Wii U Daily
http://wiiudaily.com/

Nintendo Enthusiast
http://nintendoenthusiast.com/

Nintendo Nerds, and Go Nintendo are pretty good too. Nintendo Nerds even lists the eshop file sizes. It might not seem like it, but there are tons of great fan sites out there.

Actually though, I think it's pretty cool that they review the obscure stuff. I don't see anyone else reviewing Cute Witch Runner (well maybe, but hey. I don't look elsewhere for reviews!).
