Personally, if you are hesitant about getting a wii u, trade the xbone for a PS4. However, If you want nintendo games, definitely go with the Wii U. That is why I have one.
I don't think you can go wrong with Pikmin 3 and Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze to start you off. You can demo Wonderful 101 and Zombi U on the eShop and decide if you want to get those. You can usually buy them for around $20 if you shop around and are patient. eBay of course is your friend.
I really think you should just keep your Xbox One and save up for a Wii U. That way, you would have more game options available, so in case some game you really want to play isn't coming to the Wii U, but is available for the Xbox One/PS4, you would still be able to play it.

I would be careful with the W101 demo, I did not care for it but I purchased it anyway and enjoyed it a lot more.

Thanks for all the feed back guys/gals. I have been thinking about this for over a month now, just needed some more input. At heart I am a nintendo fan. I don't know but there is just something different about nintendo compared to the others. So I have made my choice and I am trading it in and grabbing a wii u. So next question...what are the first games I should get? I am getting the Zelda bundle ( cant pass that up ) and for sure grabbing monster hunter. What other 2 games should I grab right away. ( btw I'm pre-ordering Mario Cart 8 as well )
What kind of games do you like? If you like platformers, definitely Super Mario 3D and Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. If you want stuff off the beaten path, go for Pikmin and Wonderful101. If you like zombie survival games at all then ZombiU is a must have.
I'm very tempted to suggest it. In your situation, I'd do it and use any extra left over to save up for a PS4. But that's me. Not you. If you still see value in your XB One, then I suggest trying to save up for a Wii U and just have both. If you think you're done with it, go ahead and sell it. As has been said, tge choice really is yours. Not ours.
Yep trade away baby. Wii U will be so much more fun.
Edit: good you made the right choice. You should probably start with DK and Super 3D world then maybe Zelda ww or pikmin 3 to get as much as the Nintendo experience you were looking for.
