Topic: Help me identify this Wii Gun Peripheral?

So I was at GameStop today just generally browsing around. At some point I recalled I was looking for a Wii Zapper as I had recently picked up a few 'light gun' based games so I started rummaging through their used accessories. I ended up find this thing for $8. Looks and works great. But here's the thing, I can't find any reference to this gun shell online. Or at least by running 'wii' 'gun' and 'accessory' through Google Image Search.

The gun looks like this...

I'm pretty sure this is a first party gun, as its got the official WII logo etched into its plastic, but there's no trademark text anywhere. Also the color is the exact same as some first party Wii Motion Plus controllers I saw at the store.

Its a nice shell, feels good with a Wiimote mounted. So what is this thing? Where did it come from? Is it a pack-in? A new Zapper design? Why isn't there any referance to it on Google, Amazon, or Wikipedia?

It is not first party. Looks like something someone made at home and was able to trick GameStop into taking it under a different accessory.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I can't believe that for a second. Its too well made. The Wiimote fits snug. Its got the molded logo (as well as other molded text), and the warning sticker (inside the slot where you actually keep your Wiimote battery cover when its off the Wiimote in the gun). A homebrew would be a lot rougher quality I'd think.

Nintendo did officially license a third party gun attachment, but I'm not sure if that is it. It could be, because the one I saw at GS showed the Wii remote attached on the front, so I don't know what it looked like w/o the Wii remote, but I also didn't care to look very hard, either.

Go look on eBay. There's like 5 different versions that were officially licensed, and I think that might be one of them. Nintendo had to officially license any Wii gun attachment that was in the same box as whatever game they were licensing.

There's a Star Wars one.

Okay, I think I solved it. Its called a Wii Blaster*, and it came in a two pack bundled with Big Town Shoot Out.

Thanks for the advice to check ebay, that's where I finally identified it.

PS: Its a really nice no-frills remote-only gun shell btw

*Gamestop had its own 3rd party gun called a 'Blaster'. Which is what Google Image Search is full of pics of.

That's a neat little gun peripheral, makes it look a little like an Original Series Star Trek phaser.

Urban Champion is GLORIOUS.

Yup, so that's technically an official Wii gun attachment. It's not the one I saw, now that you have pictures.
