Here's exactly what you should do:
1.) Get in with the times and buy an HD TV. You'll have to eventually, and it'll be worth it..
2.) Buy a Wii U and enjoy it. I recommend: NSMBU and NSLU, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Lego City Undercover, Bit Trip Runner 2, Monster Hunter Ultimate 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, Mighty Switch Force: Hyper Drive Edition, Cloudberry Kingdom, Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, and Toki Tori 2.

I thought Bit Trip Runner 2, Mutant Mudds Deluxe, and Toki Tori 2 were all pretty boring....but I have to admit that Cloudberry Kingdom is extremely addicting. I just unlocked The Masochist and I'm about to break my Wii U

I bought a Wii component cable for my Wii U because I only had one HDMI slot on my monitor, but the 480p quality was a complete turnoff. Seriously, if you're going to use the composite cables, you might as well just play everything with off-tv play on your GamePad because even that looks better. If anybody wants a set of Wii composite cables(same kind that came in the Wii box), I will gladly mail them for free.
Edit: Mistakenly referred to them as component cables, thanks for the correction.

Component can do 1080p. It has 5 cables, 3 for video and 2 for stereo audio. You are referring to composite, which has 2 for audio, one for video.

Well that being said.. (I think I will.. but it may have been just a unlucky pick for me.. darn horses get all the luck.. ) I will so much in the fact that I don't want there to be a mistake.. but I held back so much in the fact that I fixed the problem myself.. after having the AV cables plugged in for a while.. still you can get AV cables for Wii.. and Wii U.. since they are one and the same.. for a few dollars.. on various websites.. so it is not much of an issue.. If you want mine.. I will send em to you for free.. .. it's your choice of course.. but.. it's just I am willing to help a gamer.. if I need to.. especially for a system I think is worth it to have.. you can always upgrade to a new TV later.. (Most likely will have to eventually.. ) anyway.. your choice
