So that catchy rhythm-based minigame that had a pirate ship or whatever, is it in this game then? Was wondering what happened with that one. xD

Well that rhythm-based pirate game was shown at E3 2011 and was never seen again (correct me if i'm wrong), so I don't know what happened to it, but i'm sure it'll end up in some other game later on...

I wouldn't be surprised if Game & Wario gets pushed into 2013, since besides having a spot in the Japanese Nintendo Direct, there's been hardly any talk or mention of it in other regions. The launch line-up is huge as it is. The WarioWare series has traditionally been released early in the year; somewhere in the range of January-April. There hasn't been a WarioWare game released in the Fall to my knowledge.

I guess we'll just wait and see.

This better be budget priced, or come with some sort of peripheral.

As pntjr stated, this basically seems like Wii Play with a bit more Wario influence. I want a traditional WarioWare on 3DS though. Spongebob Squigglepants doesn't cut it.

This is a signature.

Screw you.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is. It's had very little attention besides an appearance in one Nintendo Direct. It'll probably be released in May at this point if nothing is said from now through March.

Oh, well, as Miyamoto would say, "A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever."

I have to be honest about Game and Wario though... what real reason is there to delay it or spend a long time developing? It's only a collection of mini game with about ten in total, it's not some 40 hour RPG or 3D Mario platformer that has to be tested perfectly because fixing one thing could break something else.

Sheesh, even during the deluge of today's Wii U Direct, they still couldn't announce a release date! I was really hoping it would release before the end of March, but I'm starting to doubt it at this point. This is just a minigame collection, not a platformer or adventure game. There's little sense delaying it.

@DestinyMan, I too was looking forward to some sort of release date on this game, but what we got out of this Nintendo Direct was more than I needed to be satisfied.

We could still get this maybe in March or in April. Iwata said no Nintendo games for Wii U in January or February, but said starting March they will start to roll out. He then proceeded to list Game & Wario, Wii Fit U, and Pikmin 3. Which I expect are probably released across 3 different months. Maybe March, April, and May? I'm sure The Wonderful 101 is thrown in there somewhere too as well.

Who knows.

So, out of curiosity, why did they decide to make this a mini game collection with only 11 games rather than the standard 200 microgame compilation that was standard for the rest of the WarioWare series?

Because I have to admit, a WarioWare game that used the old game structure but the Wii U's Game Pad and gimmicks could have been a very interesting title...

My guess would be that they wanted to focus on multiplayer more and that microgames would mean constant wiipad passing.

@DestinyMan

That drawing game looks interesting! So does the gamer one, but we already covered that one pretty much.

I hope we get a release date confirmation soon for NA.

I'd like to believe the 9-volt game is literally just you playing as 9-Volt playing the original game on his GBA.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 better be happening! In the meanwhile though, here's a fun little Let's Play of the original. Think you'll like the game if you like Zelda!

Good news, apparently there are 16 in total

I'm kind of wondering how this game will be content wise.

Will it even be worth it for single player only?
