@DestinyMan, I too was looking forward to some sort of release date on this game, but what we got out of this Nintendo Direct was more than I needed to be satisfied.
We could still get this maybe in March or in April. Iwata said no Nintendo games for Wii U in January or February, but said starting March they will start to roll out. He then proceeded to list Game & Wario, Wii Fit U, and Pikmin 3. Which I expect are probably released across 3 different months. Maybe March, April, and May? I'm sure The Wonderful 101 is thrown in there somewhere too as well.
So, out of curiosity, why did they decide to make this a mini game collection with only 11 games rather than the standard 200 microgame compilation that was standard for the rest of the WarioWare series?
Because I have to admit, a WarioWare game that used the old game structure but the Wii U's Game Pad and gimmicks could have been a very interesting title...

My guess would be that they wanted to focus on multiplayer more and that microgames would mean constant wiipad passing.

Good news, apparently there are 16 in total

In my opinion this isn't WarioWare, not in any form. Even if it's the same characters, the gameplay is too different. Nonetheless, Nintendo Land changed my mind about minigames collections. If Game & Wario is anything like that title in terms of depth, I'll give it a chance.

I hate it when people just quote in a forum/comment section and then don't even add anything, just have a quote. I mean, what the hell does that add to the discussion? [rant over] Anyways, on the subject of the original quote, I have to agree while I am a big fan of the WarioWare series I wasn't too sure about having a mini game collection instead of a micro game collection. That was, until I played Nintendo Land, which totally blew my expectations away, no matter how generic the box art looks. Seeing Nintendo Land have such high production values and fun and replayable mini games really gave me hope for this game. Now I am hyped, and since a Japanese March launch date was confirmed, I'm hoping we'll get this pretty soon.
I'll pick it up and there's a 99% chance I'll enjoy it.
My only beef is if it's a full $60...but I'll probably get it anyway...

Despite being strangely absent from the recent Nintendo Direct, Game & Wario got some more details leaked out hinting at what characters and types of minigames will appear.
I can guess practically every character there aside from the 2 underneath Mona & Mike. I'm at a total loss as to who they could be.
@MrWalkieTalkie I think under Mike is 9-volt, but under Mona, I don't know who could that be, maybe it's the pizza dinosaur people, Joe the dog person, Penny, or dare I say it, Waluigi?
I did some more research, and that person might be either Robotic Tiny Warios or Snack bandits.
@SheldonRandoms That can't be 9-Volt he's at the bottom in the Light Green box with his turntables, well at least I think it's him.. XD
And what do you mean by Robotic Tiny Warios & Snack Bandits? You mean the little robot warios from the minigame "Arrow" and the thieves from the minigame "Fruit"?
I'm not sure if that's true, but there where Robotic Tiny Wario's in the game when I played it, so it could be them, since they where in the other WarioWare game, as for the Snack Bandits, if you look at the picture on the top, there is a picture of a man trying to grab a apple, so maybe it's the Snack Bandits, it would make sense since this is based on the Game & Watch games.
Also, if you look closely, that is 9-Volt, here's a picture of him, and that closely resembles him, in the light green box it looks like that may be Penny, or maybe 18-volt.
I made Sheldon & Mr. Randoms back on Flipnote Hatena, now i'm a kangaroo mod that has a funko pop collection!
I'm not keen politics since that stuff is spooky, I'd rather watch SpongeBob over Fox News anyways!
