Topic: Four Swords/Final Fantasy games for WiiU

My favorite games for the GameCube were easily Zelda Four Swords Adventure and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I got a real kick out of using the screen on the tv along with the screen on my Game Boy Advance.

Do you think Nintendo will ever make a game for the WiiU that can connect to multiple WiiU pads or uses the 3DS? I'm a huge RPG fan, but also like to share that experience with friends. Sure there is online, but I think the experience you got from playing Four Swords/Crystal Chronicles is something unique that's not quite the same playing by yourself on a single screen.

We will never have a game that supports more than two gamepads. 3DS has a much higher possibility though and that would be pretty fun/interesting to use

I remember connected my GBA to my Gamecube to transfer chaos between Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Advance 2..lol

Won't the Wii U and 3DS have some form of connectivity in Smash Bros. 4? I'm not sure if they're still going to do the cross platform play though

Iirc Nintendo has stated that there wont be any cross platform play with the next Smash Bros.

Why would it be unrealistic for more than one gamepad? (not saying it's practical just wondering why)

I said we'll never have a game that supports more than TWO! Nintendo said that any more and the frame rate would be too low

Theoretically, 4 Gamepads would result in each one displaying at 15fps (60fps / 4) while the TV's frame rate would be unaffected.

I don't think the WIi U even has the horsepower for more than 2 anyway. Keep in mind that a lot of info transfers between the devices.

Also, like Tasuki said, there won't be crossplay on Smash Bros.

yeah no cross play for obvious reasons

Obvious reason 1- different graphic engine

Obvious reason 2- stages are not the same between 2 versions

obvious reason 3- because stone cold said so

I have no clue how they're gonna do 12 local on Mario Kart 8, though. Maybe wireless LAN between consoles(6 players per console), but other than that, I don't see how they're gonna do that without a second Wii U or 3DS.
They could technically have the 3DS render as much as it can via download play with it's own processor, then send the rest of the data over streaming from the Wii U.
EDIT: They probably won't do that, but they could. At that point, 6 3DS consoles are involved, as well as 2 GamePads, then 4 other controllers. I only ever want to play 3 players online, and that goes for local, too.

I think a four swords like game would be great with two gamepads. Four is cool and all but, realistically, that is difficult on both a technical and practical level. I don't see myself getting three friends to commit to playing an entire game to the end like that.
And, yes, I do think those games will happen.

EDIT: Televisions being larger and crisper now it wouldnt be too bad to split the screen for two people with pro controllers and two people on gamepads.

My apologies for reading it wrong ha ha

I didn't even realize they work making a SSB for 3DS?

I think its a real shame there won't be any connectivity between Smash Bros's WiiU and 3DS version. Especially when the technology exists. Just look at Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

There will be SOME connectivity, just not cross gaming between the 2.

Really hope we do get some sort of FF game because it looks SquareEnix is solely focused on PS4 and X BoxOne. Would be cool to get a new Crystal Chronicles with the FF15 design instead of the old Crystal Chronicles design. Really did like the combat too.
