I agree that the amount of games being released needs to increase, this year I've only brought two 2014 releases DKCTF and MK8 both are great but two games in eight months isn't great.

You may be waiting a while - the Wii U disk drive is physically incompatible with Cube mini disks. I can't see them ever releasing a mini-disk adapter, so an old GameCube or Cube-compatible Wii are your only options.

Indeed. If the kid fails at school one more time I'm getting the Wii back!

But Nintendo did say they would be releasing GC games on the eShop, but I don't feel like paying again if they are too expensive... it will all depend on what changes...

When did Nintendo announce that?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

You're right. Chubbins looks great! So does Pushmo World, oh wait I already own and beat that on my other Nintendo system.

Your region? US. Total number of games on Wii U Eshop, discounting retail games as download? 187. One hundred and eighty seven. (Which is a couple of dozen more my own region FYI)

Genres - Action. Adventure. Arcade. Board Game. Education. Fighting. Fitness. Party. Platformer. Puzzle. Racing. RPG. Shooter. Simulation. Sports. Strategy.

And you are complaining there is nothing to play? How can you call yourself a gamer if you can't find enjoyment in any of those genres? By the sounds of it I'm fairly sure you have never even played 95% of the stuff on there. If you are desperate to use your Wii U for gaming purposes you have no excuse. There are games. Stop your snobbery and start buying stuff.

187 games... how many of those are micro indie games that are barely worth my time or trouble? I didn't buy a $300 Nintendo console to play cheap indie games 6 months out of the year. I have a computer and Steam for that. Also, quantity doesn't mean anything... The Ouya has plenty of games, why aren't we all playing that?

If you are completely satisfied using your Wii U to play 5.99 bargain bin indie games, good for you. But I'm not that desperate to play games.

Sorry I read that part and laughed. I didn't buy a $300 Nintendo console for indie games, I bought a $600 computer for that...

I bought a laptop five years ago for work, and I can still play all the casual indie games on it my little heart desires. Seeing the same indie games released on my Wii U doesn't make them anymore interesting or different. Currently, I can't do my work on my Wii U... so one of the two is seeming a little less valuable...

I doubt you would be receptive, considering they are "bargain bin games".

No, judging from your posts, I have one solution for you: sell your Wii U and move on.

Makes the Wii U less valuable to you, personally. That is a personal issue that you have. Most people buy computers to work on and Gaming Machines to play games on. Yes computers can be both but I bet most people have their computers for specific functions. If you would rather play Indie games on your laptop that is your choice, you can't blame the Wii U for your choice.

Check out the Wii U eShop recommendations posts. There are hundreds of games people recommend. a couple of suggestions off the top of my head Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails, Swords & Soldiers, Abyss, Mighty Switch Force HD, Duck Tales Remastered, Bit.TRIP Runner 2, 1001 Spikes, EDGE, and Cloudberry Kingdom

What a cop-out. Nintendo should hire you for their PR department. "If you are concerned about your Wii U, just GET RID OF IT."

No wonder Ninty is so slow to fix things, they have an army of consumers who have no sense of subjective criticism and can't handle hearing someone else's opinion. Instead of calling Nintendo out for lacking in certain areas you guys just want to scream EVERYTHING IS GREAT. "If you don't think so well then stop complaining and sell your Wii U." Weird responses y'all.

If you want to call Nintendo out on their mistakes, then go to Nintendo's facebook and complain there. I doubt someone who could make a difference would even come here and read random threads.

I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I still have hopes that some big developer will read the monstrosities in the "let's write .... one word at a time" threads

There's a difference between criticism and a rant on some forum. First of all, your criticism means NOTHING to Nintendo if you don't complain to them directly (and no, boycotts don't work). Second, how can we take your criticism seriously when you post pictures of Mario as a commie and ridicule responses to your posts?

My "commie" response to you was the first one I would consider "ridiculing." And that's just because you're adding nothing to the conversation (and you're a moderator?). The whole point of posting my criticism on this forum, or rant if you want to call it that, (I also already acknowledged this thread as being called "Whining: The Thread"), is just to throw my concerns out there about the Wii U and see what other people think. There's a difference between disagreeing with my opinion/ rant, stating reasons why and having a friendly discussion about it, or just being a jerk and saying "Shut up and stop complaining" or "Sell your Wii-U then." I have no delusion that THIS thread will CHANGE THE FACE OF NINTENDO, but I do enjoy talking to people about whether or not they are satisfied with the current state of the Wii U. Not all threads need to be fan service.

The commie picture is obviously a joke. If you don't get the joke well then...

As for indie games... I don't know. I cut them some slack because they're developed by such small teams, but sometimes it's hard to find the hidden gems in there. I've heard really good things about Guacamelee, though. As in "it's better than anything AAA" good, so I'd start with that.

Thanks for the recommendations. And Yeah I have Mario Kart 8 already. I picked up Guacamelee on Steam last year, and yes it's awesome.
