will there be a squeal to mario bros u and donkey kong returns be coming out on the wii u??

I'd say that Donkey Kong Country Returns will not be on the Wii U, Retro would probably make a sequel instead if that were the case. Plus we've had plenty of the New series in the last couple of months. I think it is time for another "new" Mario series to start if you catch my drift.

Donkey Kong Country supposedly made its return a regular series again after its game on Wii, but most rumors for a new Donkey Kong Country point towards the 3DS. And as for New Super Mario Bros, according to Nintendo they are only interested in having 1 New Super Mario Bros game per system.

Good decision in my opinion. Mario has evolved to the point that when people hear a new Mario game is coming, they expect something new and fresh, with each of his different series having new and unique qualities. How many other series can say that?

As much as I'd love Donkey Kong to come to Wii U soon, I don't think there are any studios that will develop the game. Retro Studios said they are uninterested and too busy to make another Donkey Kong game, and I feel all of Nintendo's EADs are too uncomfortable with the IP, or are busy making different games for Nintendo.

Donkey Kong Country Returns will get a sequel at some point, although I'm not sure whether that will be on the Wii U.

If they make a new DKC game, they need to fix one thing before doing anything else: Make Diddy playable in 1-player mode. What am I supposed to do if I want to play as Diddy? Coax someone into playing as DK so I can fly around and shoot my gun while they just hop around blowing flowers?

I don't see why Retro felt the need to take out the kremlings or K. Rool. K. Rool is like Donkey Kong's Bowser. You can't just remove the main villain. I understand that they were kind of Rare's characters, so maybe that's why they didn't want to use them, but they are owned by Nintendo, they are characters made for the DKC series. If you're gonna use Rambi and Diddy, you might as well use all of the characters.

I'm sure DKC would look great in HD with Retro at the helm. I may not be happy with everything Retro has done, but I can't say that they don't produce gorgeous graphics for their games. And if there ever were a new DKC for Wii U, I sincerely expect to have dual-screen co-op. So no longer would the two characters be forced to stay near each other. It would make things more interesting. Especially if one player could go up into a bonus area, while the other player is still down at the main level. You could choose to work together or tackle the level separately.

Also, bring back versus mode in some form. Maybe even make it online. You, or you and a local friend, could match up online with someone else, and maybe one of their local friends, and then both be put in the same random level. Each team could try to get more points or beat the level first. Just an idea.

As far as bringing stuff back goes, they should bring back a lot more. I mean, the name of the game is "Donkey Kong Country RETURNS." How about we have more stuff from DKC actually return? It's not just called "Donkey Kong Returns." Which reminds me, the title of this thread is misleading, as Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Country are two separate series.
