Topic: Demand Final Fantasy XV on the Wii U

They were already developing it for the PS3, and if they shut down the PS3 version entirely, they would've lost fans. Now they've stratefied the fanbase. Damage has been done, and now they have to make ports to support their Xbox fans, which again shouldn't be a problem since the Xbox One and PS4 are similar enough to make porting easy.

The Wii U lacks both the fanbase and the tech to make a port of FFXV worthwhile.

Microsoft had a massive push for JRPGs early on, with the likes of Blue Dragon, Lost Oddysey, and Tales of Vesparia. That, combined with the 360 having way better sales at that time, justified the 360 version.

As for the argument as a whole, let's look at it this way. Square Enix has a bunch of economists and analysts who have went to college and have had years of experience have direct access to a myriad of data, including past sales numbers, money made, how much money ports/other versions of games cost, etc. If there is a way to make money without undergoing immense amounts of risk in Square Enix's area of expertise, they will jump on it. Yet they aren't.

I don't know about you, but I'm more willing to trust the reasoning behind people who have experience in this area than a bunch of armchair experts on a Nintendo forum.

SE never said that the Wii U can't run FFXV. That was some bulls*** that some mofo made up to troll the internet, and tons of people believed it, making toms of people look like idiots in the process.

@SCAR392 The fact that SE hasn't announced a Wii U version probably means they don't feel like it's worth it. They've got their data and reasoning, so regardless of what is said in this thread, it doesn't change SE's decision.

So let's stop getting bent out of shape about it, all of us.

If it's not about money, it's about specs, if it's not about specs, if it's about demand, it's about money, if it's not about money, it's about... We've already been over this stuff. It's not up to us, whatever the reasons are or aren't, so screw it.

I think it's more about people being realists.

That, and not everyone is super pleased with their Wii U.

FFXV could very reasonably be brought to the Wii U. I've shown why in my previous posts. These "realists" just need to express their want for FFXV on Wii U and maybe it will come.

And I'm super satisfied with my Wii U. Like really, really satisfied.

@Oragami What if these realists," don't really want to buy an inferior port when we are just planning to get on a system it's already announced for? We necessarily have that much of a desire for a Wii U version.

You don't HAVE to buy the Wii U version. It's not like you can't buy the PS4/Xbox One version if the Wii U version is released.

My point was, why would we ask SE to make a product that we have no intention of buying?

I never said I did. I represent the people who want FFXV on the Wii U.

He may not want it, but that doesn't mean nobody wants it.

The thing is not enough people would want it. Most of Final Fantasy's fanbase will probably already own a PS4 in anticipation for FF games anyway

But the question is if there are enough FFXV, Action RPG, or JRPG fans who own Wii U's but not PS4's or Xbox One's. Considering the lack of Action RPG's and JRPG's on the Wii U, I can't imagine it wouldn't sell. Plus, there has to be some Final Fantasy fans that own a Wii U but not a PS4 or Xbox One. With those facts all together, the game almost has to sell.

How would you know that it would be an inferior port? You don't. Again, with the not reading... DX11 level graphics are possible on Wii U. This already confirms that the game wouldn't be inferior, as long as they match it to Wii U's specs, which they already said they were doing for all the consoles they were putting it on.

The only games that won't be possible on Wii U, are games that utilize the PS4's extra features(aka: Sony IPs, exclusive games) Since this game is on Xbox One, those extra PS4 capabilities aren't going to be touched at all, so there's literally no way for Wii U to get an inferior port.

Does anyone here realize what DX11 even means?

EDIT: If you have no intentions of buying the game on Wii U, why even partake in this thread? The specs and such aren't an issue.
