Ocarina Of Time / Twilight Princess (basically a remake, which is its main problem)

Yeah I totally agree here. I got so upset when I saw them use the Goron miniboss a second time, and that Midna's predicament was the same as in Ocarina of Time. And god dang that useless spinner is back again. Holy crap dude. The double clawshots were cool and all, but how about some new items, yeah? Glad they kept the great fairy magic, sure came in handy. Frickin Water Temple was just as much of a pain as it was in Ocarina. Why don't they just give us the ability to swim already? Holy hell, I thought they got the message that nobody really liked wolf in ocarina of time, yo. Did they really need to bring that back? Good to see they didn't forget their roots though, we started off as a child Link again in Twilight Princess. Too bad we had to wait until halfway through the game to get the horse again. At least they kept the roving bands of Bulblin Riders and Lizalfos that roamed the fields in Ocarina of Time. And it's a good thing Madame Fandini returned to help out with those annoying heart piece locations eh? I was kind of worried that all of my favorite bosses from Ocarina of Time would be cut from the game. I don't know what I'd do if we didn't have the boss of the Shadow Temple, Stallord. The Mirror shield sure did get a drastic redesign though, right? It sure came in handy in the battle against Zant and Puppet Ganon, both of which were just as predictable as they were in Ocarina of Time. At least they did the Battle against Beast Ganon Justice. Those huge golden swords never looked sharper.I dunno about you, but I thought the S.T.A.R mini game and protecting Telma's caravan felt a little easier than they did in Ocarina of Time. I was also hoping they'd fix the lens of truth, and make it just and add on like in Link's Awakening. Holy crap though, is it just me, or did getting to the Great Deku Tree take five times longer than it did in Twilight Princess. That dang Colin just insisted I get my goron bracers to pluck the bomb flowers so I can enter the twilight realm and retreive princess Ruto from the belly of Yeto so Midna can finally awaken the six sages and seal the fused shadow gerudo training ground golden skultula learning ocarina songs sheikiah owl statues golden bugs giant peahat infested overworld monkey swing time travel rescuing the workers from the gerudo bulblin camp actual temple in temple of time stupid dominion rod fetch quest ooccoo mask shop malo mart hawk eye bomb arrow hidden sword techniques taught by glowing skeleton man with a flying golden chicken while skull kid chases you with freaky puppets and you equip the hover boots to fight dead hand and his roving band of deku toads with all the bombchu bowling arrow shooting jar contents selling minigames you could hope for whilst delivering hot spring water to the goron oh my freaking god these games are such remakes of each other I am so freaking full of rage

...that was probably overkill but In all seriousness, I get so annoyed at these kinds of accusations.

@Pocket_arsenal: For a moment there I thought you were serious and was going to ask if you'd actually played Ocarina of time.

Yeah that is annoying when people say Twilight is just remake of Ocarina. What because Epona is in the game and it takes place in Hyrule? These people clearly never bothered to finish the game. It also irritates me how people call the wolf segments boring. They take away the use of your sword for a 10 minute bug hunt three different times in the entire game and it's boring you to tears? I suppose they'd rather have a Zelda game made up entirely of Dungeons and no other side quests at all right?

Twilight Princess is like the Star wars prequels of videogames.
It's so much cooler to hate on it then try to enjoy it for it's own strengths.

I did finish the game, and I loved it (I did put it on a shared second place in my top). Perhaps "spiritual successor that borrows too much from the original" is a better description than "remake", but... it's so long I couldn't be bothered typing it all out. I figured it was obvious what I meant, but yes, "remake" is an overstatement.

I loved everything they added, but given how many elements Zelda copies every time (not hating on it, this is still my favourite game series) I'd say it was a pretty bad idea to make a game that in a lot of ways feels like an "ode to" Ocarina. All too often it didn't feel like a brand new game, which to me was it's biggest flaw. It seems like all the time they spent including everything that was also in Ocarina Of Time, they could've build something more unique.

I do enjoy sarcasm, so thank you for that, but let's face it you overdid it and forgot to paragraph it, so I'm afraid I TL;DR'd it.

I guess I will admit TP did have alot of a (been there done that) kinda thing going.
Maybe it just wasn't fresh enough and felt too much like the same old grind.
From the looks of skyward sword I'd say they took that into account.
This new game does seem like it has something original and surprising for us all.

Very true, I'm really liking the approach they took to Skyward Sword. That being said, I'm praying there's some more unique dungeons. I for one would not be bothered at all if they left out the Fire/Sand/Forest dungeon for once, but those have been confirmed.

I get a little touchy about the word rehash and remake getting flung around too much these days, I'm sorry.
I did sort of feel that it was an awful lot like Ocarina, with enhancements and expansion, but all the magic and charm, and most of all, color, sucked out.

As for dungeons, it's sort of hard to come up with some they haven't done already, but Fire, Water, and Forest are sort of the ones they tend to use the most arent they? They should look to pokemon for inspiration. Bug, psychic, ghost, and Dragon Temples anyone? ...Kidding! just kidding

Actually, I'd be totally fine with that, and it's not that hard to be creative...? Just look around your room and you can come up with some themes. I'd like a dungeon on a giant creature (my cat's walking around), or with robotic elements, a glass tower, an Escher-like world, etc

Note: They're not in order.

-Majora's Mask: The setting was really different from other Zelda games. It gave the series something fresh.
-Twilight Princess: An awesome masterpiece. Such big world, so many secrets and go on.
-Oracle of Ages/Seasons: The only handheld Zelda games which give some really good feeling.
-The Legend of Zelda (The first one, on the NES): Nostalgia all the way. Even after 10 years, still a must play.

Yep, no OOT. It's not that fancy anymore for me. Even the remake didn't help.

Changed name: Old name was JDT!
