I want to start playing one of the Mario RPG's. So I was wondering which one i should play first? Paper Mario, Mario and Luigi Super Star Saga, or Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars?

Seven Stars. It came first and is the best.

Paper Mario out of those is the best nd funnest.Seven Stars is highly overrated and really boring today.

Paper Mario is my favorite, Seven Stars is kind of dated leveling up is a pain in that game, Paper Mario is much more straight forward and balanced.
there's nothing that's certain... of that you can be certain

I love them all but my vote has to go to Paper Mario. It's one of my favorite game franchises of all time.

Super Mario RPG. The Paper Mario series are ok, but SM RPG, and the Mario & Luigi RPG series is better. Though, I don't know if Bowser's Inside Story is any good, but I've heard great things about it.

Paper Mario is the best introduction to the Mario RPG series. Thousand-Year Door is what got me hooked, but I've found Paper Mario to be more fun. Super Mario RPG is fun if you like RPGs based on Super Mario World. Avoid Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time at all costs.

SMRPG laid the groundworks for the rest, so you may as well begin with the one that started it all. :3

Super Paper Mario combines RPG elements with the platforming gameplay of the original sidescrollers.

All of the Mario RPGs are awesome games. You cannot really go wrong with any of them. But, the Mario & Luigi series and Paper Mario series are my favorites. Super Mario RPG is also good, but I have not yet complete it. The best Mario RPGs I have ever played are Paper Mario:The Thousand Year Door and Mario & Luigi:Bowser's Inside Story. But personally, I think you should start out with Mario & Luigi:Superstar Saga. The game is simple enough for Mario RPG newcomers, but it is a very deep and challenging game.

The best way to do it would be to start with the paper mario series and then move on to the mario & luigi games...all of which are nothing short of amazing. If you enjoy all of those experiences and want to go back and see where it all essentially began, then go back and play seven stars. It's not that it's a bad game, but it's a little bit dated and you'll be able to get more enjoyment out of it if you are able to see where these two later franchises borrowed some ideas from.
