I think this part of Ocarina of Time is an awesome time paradox: You're in the windmill as an adult. The mean-looking guy states how he "hates the ocarina kid from seven years ago" so you show him your Ocarina. "Hey! You have an ocarina!!" he exclaims in rage. He goes on by saying "I'll never forget that tune he played that messed up this windmill..." and plays the Song of Storms. Now that you know Song of Storms, you have to go back in time, into the windmill. The first thing you notice is, the windmill guy is happy. However, when you play the Song of Storms, and it starts raining in the windmill and the wheel goes too fast, there's a cutscene. You've emptied the well! Then when you talk to the aforementioned man, he says "Go around, go around, go around- Hey! That's going WAY too fast!" I think this is an awesome time paradox, since he tells you the song you played in the past because he told you in the future(if that made sense, which of course it doesn't because it's a paradox) Who agrees with me?
Yeah, that's a paradox alright. It's like the Song of Storms came into existence out of nowhere. They screwed up with that part of the story.
Then again, the ending is really weird when you're sent back in time to relive the seven years you missed. Isn't Ganondorf still going to take over until you defeat him? So wouldn't that mean you're going to live a miserable seven years while you wait for the events of the game to take place, and then you either have to defeat Ganondorf all over again or wait it out until a duplicate of yourself from your past does it?
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

In a time, long ago rain began that did not slow lightening cracked the sky, loud the thunder cried Go around, Go around dance while heaven crashes down Singing asong of storms Who am I, am I free, Is this just a memory? Half-forgotten pain, love lost in the rain when you've lost, lost it all, that's when she begins to fall You still have the song of storms

That song of storms sidequest is one of the coolest things on any game ever. Fact.
It's not a sidequest, a sidequest would be having to go to a lot of different characters delivering things to them to eventually get some cool reward. Example: Biggoron's Sword

Eh? If it's a quest you can partake in that's not necessary to complete to the game but nets you some reward, it's a side quest. The Song of Storms is a reward. And it's a pretty cool one, if I say so myself.

Isn't the Song of Storms like required to get to the Bottom of the Well? Which you go to while advancing through the story? Wouldn't exactly call it a sidequest.

Yup.
