Umm... I think it's the first one. I might be wrong though. If I remember correctly, all he does is go back and forth across the screen, and the only way to get hit is to stand directly in his way.

That's Sonic 2.

I'd say Medusa from Super Castlevania 4 was pretty freaking easy. She just sort of wanders back and forth, while you beat on her with the whip. She also shoots snakes at you, but the fall right onto the whip and die instantly. Funny how you're able to look at her ...

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I can name tons of easier bosses than Manhandla from the first game.
Dodongo, Digdogger, and Gohma, for example.

Dodongo was not difficult per se, but he made the dungeon difficult because it forced me to manage my bombs much more than I'm used to, and there's no warning much of the time. I'll go through the dungeon not knowing who the boss is, get there, and then have to kill myself.

Gohma can be hard for similar reasons since I seem to recall it being weak only to arrows. Not sure. And Digdogger would sometimes move really fast.

I don't think any of them are hard, but I also wouldn't say they're particularly easier than Manhandla. The only bosses I can recall being particularly challenging were Ganon of course and the three-headed dragon.

Come on, friends,
To the bear arcades again.

The red Gohma died from one arrow, and the first game didn't have an arrow counter, instead subtracting a rupee from your money pile every time you fired one.
Gohma actually attacked you, though, so Dodongo was still "easier".

I know. I just don't tend to carry a lot of rupees on my person at all times, though admittedly it's much easier to replenish than bombs.

Why would you kill yourself? I think every single boss fight can be escaped except for the Ganon fight.
Digdogger accelerates over time. Just run up to him, play the flute, and attack him twice before he starts accelerating.
"Secret power is said to be in the arrow" (L5 hint), "Aim at the eyes of Gohma" (L6 hint) is enough info to beat Gohma (L6 boss) in 1 shot of the bow.
Aquamentus is also very easy, especially if you enter with full health (so that you can shoot your sword).

But Manhandla is much harder. It moves erratically and very quickly once you start to damage it, and you must hit the beaks, so random swinging won't always do the trick.

4-headed Gleeok is definitely a pain though.

Those bosses appear in multiple dungeons, especially in second quest. The hints for each boss only occur in the first dungeon that the respective boss appears in. So though I already know how to beat Dodongo later on in the game, I might not expect him to be there, and thus find myself without sufficient bombs after a long and arduous trek through a difficult dungeon.

As for why I'd suicide, it's usually faster than backtracking.

Gleeok's only three-headed, isn't it? That's the one I was talking about that I thought was difficult. The rest are mostly uniformly easy, though Digdogger probably even easier since I apparently have been overlooking his slow acceleration. Or it may just be that I have the crappiest memory in existence and don't remember it being particularly easy despite playing second quest earlier this year.

There's both two-, three- and four-headed Gleeoks in the game.

OK, I was halfway through the third dungeon in the original Zelda, when I learned I had to get the white sword. After finding another heart container and getting the sword, I returned. I got to the boss, laid a bomb, and killed it instantly. I was like "WTF?" I got the heart container and the Triforce. Easiest boss ever.

I did the same thing, lol. But then I realized it was probably just luck
