Hello all! I skipped last generation entirely (damn mmorpgs.... what a waste.) Because of this i dont really know whats exclusive to the xbox/playstation. I will get another next-gen console and i realize there might not be a lot of exclusivity yet but what was exclusive to last gens consoles (besides nintendo, obviously,)
All i know is that the xbox will get the masterchief collection (all halo games) which makes me want to get one. What would the playstation offer? Quite a tricky question i suppose but try and give me the plus and tbe minus of the two consoles and their libraries. Thanks in advance guys!
edit: by writing i will get another next-gen console i mean that i already have a wii u. It might have been obvious but i figured i would save you all the time to write: get a wii u!!!
@Kodeen The thought has struck me but i really want to invest my money into the newest iteration of consoles. Call me crazy, i realize that the PS3 has a huge library but i just cant settle with the older version.
edit: Why i want to know about exclusivity is to be able to decide between a xbox one and a playstation 4.
Xbone has more exclusives at the moment and in the near future..... PS4 has less at the moment and some of their upcoming titles may not be ready for 2015 even if they have promised they will... However, I still believe in the end the PS4 would end up with more exclusives like the PS3 did because of Japanese support and more first party studios
Hm okay i see.. so let's put it like this: the specs of the consoles? Equally powerful? Does the xbox have more RPGs than the playstation and vice versa?

PS4 is more powerful but is not a big difference, none of the two has any big rpgs at the moment PS4 has Bloodborne upcoming which is a sort of action a RPG and something called Natural Doctrine which is a strategy RPG, it also has a number of free to play MMOs like DC Universe online but those are also on PC Xbone has Fable Legends upcoming which is a co-op action RPG... the biggest upcoming western rpg is Witcher 3 which is coming to both, Japanese RPGs are Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 which are also coming to both.. However those may be some time away....
@ferthepoet Thank you for taking the time to answer and listing these different games. Seems like a lot are "coming to both" and the strongest card for me is the halo masterchief collection. I'm desperate for a shooter and since Destiny also is coming to both i think i'll get a xbone this November + the masterchief collection! (might even grab it sooner...... hehe)

It sounds like you're leaning more toward shooter exclusives, and if that's the case, DEFINITELY go Xbox One. Halo is a massive hitter (as you've stated), and don't forget about the Gears franchise if that sort of stuff floats your boat. If you are a diehard RPG fan, especially traditional JRPG stuff, you may want to pause and consider a PS4, though. Playstation is also home to the Uncharted series (not sure if you know those games or are interested in them) and astounding successes like Last of Us. Most other games, though, will be available on both systems.

Man i'm almost positive now that i should go with a Xbone! Sure i like a couple of JRPGs but it definetaly isnt a priority. Uncharted, same thing but The Last of Us would have been cool but hey, you cant get everything! I just hope the Xbone will get RPGs in some sense, western or japanese but im sure it will!

Xbone will get Western RPGs. And it will be a great shooter box. Halo, Gears of War, Titanfall, plus any of the multiplat shooter stuff like Destiny OR Wolfenstein. Expect extensive Western support.

Yeah, I guess your right. It's probably less of a shooter than even Metroid Prime, but I guess we'll have to just wait and see...

Guys, I think No Man's Sky is just a timed exclusive for the PS4, meaning it will release on other consoles, just later down the line.
That's what I thought as well.
But generally speaking, Xbone has more exclusives on the way. And in terms of RPG's, both FFXV and KHIII are coming on it as well. And I think Scalebound could be an action RPG, though I have no idea what exactly to think of that.
