Ive heard of a game called World of Warcraft, lots of people play it everyday or mostly everyday, I still play it a little but I was wondering who plays it just say yes, no and how long youve been playing it (or other things about it.... dont have to say how long though...) Ive been playing for about two years, 1st year was addicted and 2nd year, not so addicted...
I never played the game because my mother is hardcore addicted- it's really a turn-off. She's been playing since it was released (I was 18). Now I'm 23, and I can hardly bare to visit her sometimes due to her addiction. She works a minimum wage job and lives in poverty, but remains content with her living situation because of WoW. She pours everything into the game- it's her social life, her playground, her stage (referring to role-playing). Everything is perfect in her virtual world, and I feel she has lost any ambitions of bettering her real life situation. As disturbing as it may sound, the only way I feel I could really connect with my mother is to start playing with her. It seems some games are crafted so well, and are so much fun to play, that they can have detrimental effects on one's life, effects potentially encompassing family and friends. WoW is an incredible game. Some can enjoy it casually, others get completely sucked in. It's just something you have to be careful with, not unlike a hard drug. This rant is in no way an attack on WoW or any of it's players, I'm just pointing out the potential for addiction with such games.

I was addicted for the trial version of ten days. Then I got bored having to level up ALL OVER AGAIN!
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I were seriously addicted to Diablo 2 and can understand why.
This was my problem. First it was PvM then I found the "dark side" that is Low Level Dueling. I have spent COUNTLESS hours on this game and every once in a while I can find the strength to walk away from it for a few months, but eventually I end up crawling back to it. I was actually offered $250usd for one of my characters a couple of weeks ago so now I'm kind of wondering what financial returns on my time investments I can make.
I will NEVER play WoW. I've heard enough horror stories about it and I would prefer to keep my soul. I have dabbled in Guild Wars though, which was fun, but it just doesn't have that addictive spark, which is a good thing I think!
I've played on and off since release in 2004. Mostly on, and yeah it usually turns out that I play way to much. Sold a few accounts as well, first one for 500$ before burning crusade, then 2x in TBC 300$ each and now I'm on my fourth account that I've had for a long time and will not sell, but I'm currently not playing either and probably won't be for a long time since I've finally grown tired of it. But that's how it usually sounds, before i shoot up some warcrack again.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
You know, I've just never been able to see the appeal of MMOs. Takes to long to get the good stuff, and paying every month (yes, I know there are free ones) seems wasteful to me.

I was obsessed with Asda Story for a little while, which is a free MMORPG, but I got bored after about two weeks. I don't understand the appeal of MMORPGs. It just gets old after a while, especially because you can't beat the game.
I'm a huge fan of Warcraft, I mean, HUGE fan, but ironically, I absolutely dislike WoW, I can play hours and hours of Warcraft 3 after all these years, but i completely dislike the whole idea of MMORPG's. Now, give me Warcraft 4!!!!!!!
