FPS arent video games mario games and sonic games are, mario and sonic games have stories and characters
I'm assuming your not old enough to play rated M games.
Sonic has a story that's good enough for a cartoon. Mario's story is non-existent.
Now compare that to something like Bioshock (the heavy borrowing from Ayn Rand aside) or even Halo.
well in england there rated 18 and yes i have played COD for 5 minuets then i got bored and said to my brother its the same as the last one then i said they will annouse a new one next year and it will be exactully the same, its the same with the fifa games THEY ARE THE SAME EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even then those games aren't the same every year. Granted I buy every other year and skipped MW3 in favor of More Halo.

Halo does have a story its unique because of how its done so is bioshock those games are full of imagination. but ones like COD and battlefield arent unique there based in today times and have no imagnination sure they say "you feel as if your there" but its dry halo isnt, there good intersting just like the FPS metroid games i love them but because of COD and FPS just like them i HATE the genre

Isn't that Like saying thw Hurt Locker isn't a good movie beauce it takes place in real life.
One of My favorite gaming moments are after the nuke hits in COD4 and you play as the soldier limping on in the middle of the battlefeild until you die from radiation poisoning.
Not every thing needs to mystical or Sci-fi.
I am hoping for a return to the WWII shooter or One taking place in Veitnam.

Shouldn't Zelda be its own category? And I would recognize FPS as it's own category. In my opinion, they play and feel much different from 3rd person shooters.

1. Platformers - Mario, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot (only the ones made by Naughty Dog) 2. Action Adventure - Zelda, Shadow of the Colossus, Uncharted 3. Fighting - Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur 4. First Person Shooter - Halo, GoldenEye Wii, Perfect Dark (N64 version), Call of Duty: Black Ops (the only CoD game I truly liked) 5. Open World - Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row 6. Puzzle - Tetris, Hexic HD, Tumble (just downloaded the demo today, and so far I love it)
Yeah, that really doesn't make much sense, but what the heck: Pretty much every one that you can think of except for Visual Novels. Those aren't games, they're books with pictures.
Yeah, so should every other game that blends genres. They should just make a subgenre for every single game out there that combines two or more genres. hehe, genres is starting to sound weird
I love them all regardless of gender, race or religion. You should all be ashamed for judging them based on labels. We all have a place in this world and everyone should be respected.
