@Sony_70 Isn't it a downstripped version of the game, though?

No, it's the full game.

Its the full game feature wise but its missing half of the cars and tracks for you to use. You buy the rest for a full lump sum or piece meal like Killer instinct.

The Last of Us was 12 hours long and was played with about 4 buttons.

This is a load of crap anyone thats played The Last of Us will know its a lot longer, and that you have to use the R1,R2,L1,L2 buttons.

it wasn't much different than a paper and dice tabletop RPG that came out 40 years ago.

Also another load of crap because The Last of Us is no RPG, thats all i'm going to say, i like facts not fiction.

I'll be getting a PS4 for now because the two games i'm interested in are multiplats and since theres nothing the xbox one offers that the PS4 doesn't offer and it's 100$ cheaper it just makes more sense to me.

I have played it, and I do know how long it is and which buttons to press. You don't seem to be aware that hyperbole is a thing. If you're using a modern browser, type "define hyperbole" in your address bar and it should take you to a Google search with the definition at the top of the page.

Just for you, I'll rephrase to be more literal: "The Last of Us was rather short and had simplistic gameplay."

The Last of Us has role-playing elements and a lot in common with D&D. That's a fact.

I don't know how The Last of Us was all that short in terms of campaigns. It's got quite a sizable campaign when compared to a ton of other games, and 12 hours is on the short side. I put in 14 hours on normal my first time through and that was me racing through just wanting to advance the story because of how much it captured me. If I had taken my time and looked for everything and been even more cautious then I know I could have easily gotten that up to 18 if I wanted. That's easily on par with a shorter RPG and add the fact that it encourages you to do more and you have a somewhat entertaining multiplayer mode and I'd argue there is quite a bit of game in The Last of Us. I'm wondering how you got it down to 12 hours myself because my playthrough seemed all too quick when I was enjoying it. I guess The Last of Us is the kind of game that can have varying lengths depending on how much you put into it though. I know despite wanting to get through the game to the next story bit I would sometimes just sit and look at everything around me. Damn I loved The Last of Us.

If I had too I'd probably get a PS4, but I'm not really going to think about buying another console until I upgrade my PC.

I used to travel the stars, then I discovered Earth, and these incredibly addicting things called 'Video Games.'
And they said you couldn't buy happiness!

@Waveboy That's rather elitest additude you there isn't it, having played more consoles doesn't automatically mean you can judge a game better. You also seem to think that game design can't advance and that new forms of controlls are the only advancement in gaming. Not liking games is one thing, but acting like game design won't advance further and take advantage of the added power out outside of graphics is just plain ludicrous and without a drop logic or reason. Innovation does exist in game design and not just controllers now. It hasn't reached some sort of peak.

Don't feed it. Him and MAB are always like that. Even showing them proof of modern gaming being awesome they shrug it off as boring games and Nintendo Rip offs.

Anywho I'd say you can't go wrong with either of the three systems. It mostly depends on your gaming tastes and what franchises you like.

Xbox One has the new Halo so yeah.

I see where WaveBoy and MAB are coming from for the most part.

Honestly, I don't think the graphic leap is all that large. It's definitely there, but I don't see why I would sacrifice the Wii remote+ and nunchuck control scheme for better graphics.

Touch/second screen gaming is gonna be a thing for all the consoles, so the GamePad is warranted, and not a gimmick.

I still want Xbox One, but the types of stuff Nintendo is willing to support right out of the box compared to Microsoft and Sony(Wii remote and GamePad) seems like a better value right now.

Microsoft at least has Kinect 2.0 in the box, and that's something the others don't support.

@SCAR392

I understand where they're coming from but I think its a mistake to automatically dismiss games just because they don't use motion controls or a tablet. Xbox supports stuff right out the box as well it just depends on if you have it or not. My current laptop homepage

Sony is the only one with out any real pack in or device like the gamepad or Kinect.

@Waveboy expressed his opinion with more than a little style and flare, he had a point to make (kind of). You shouldn't waste your time trying to 'refute' things that are a simple matter of opinion. While you've stated some truths the claims are mostly based on relative things, like who can judge whether game design is advancing without bound? A game with progressive design elements might leave a sour taste if traditionally held standards are abandoned, for instance.

You are what you eat from your head to your feet.

This is going to look like a double post, sorry.

Unfortunately the concept of 'newness' is itself a misnomer, everything comes from something there is no such thing as pure synthesis, etcetera.

How can we measure the evolution of design in such a way that guarantees advancement? The notion of a hypothetical glass ceiling which limits improvement assumes that it is not possibe to attain perfection. Some people think Mario Bros is perfect. There are those who favor simplicity of design, which is a sort of perfect execution.

@Jaz007 no problem, hopefully my altered wording leaves you free to discuss at your leisure.

If your curious, I deleted my comment because I felt like it was getting a bit messy and I didn't really feel like fixing it and I need to go to sleep. (I was also hoping to get rid of it before you saw it to be honest, and it was too late when I saw you had replied.)

I haven't seen game changing gameplay from Xbox 360 or PS3 in the past 5 years, about. The gameplay was better in later games, but it was basically what was already there.
Gears of War, Mirror's Edge, Dead Space, Killzone 2, Dead Rising, RE5, Metal Gear Solid 4, Bioshock, Uncharted, etc. games released around the same time as those were the last time I really saw anything from those systems being "must-haves", IMO.
Believe me. I enjoyed those games, and even more recent ones on those platforms, but around the end of 2008 is when it stopped being fresh and they started recycling stuff.

The Wii suffered the same type of things at times, too, but the Wii remote was entirely different, so it warranted a purchase and consistent attention, regardless. I had RedSteel, Wii Sports, and Zelda at Wii launch, followed by games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Mario Galaxy, No More Heroes, etc. hardcore games.

The Wii attracted/required attention that was completely different from what the others were doing, that's why comparing was impossible.

There was alot of fun stuff on EVERY system, but Wii always had the motion controls that made you look away from the HD twins for a bit and play games differently.

RedSteel, looked at as a poor game, is exactly how I've come to see ZombiU on the Wii U as well. Under appreciated launch games that are exactly what people ask for, yet no one wants them when push comes to shove.

RedSteel was a blast. It was the first FPS game with some sword fights on the side. That's before motion plus was released, and the sword fights were still accurate if you played the game right.

This is 7th all over again, except now Nintendo has a WAY more powerful machine and has brought their now developed, tried, and trusted Wii remote along with them. I will stand by the Wii remote first and foremost, and the GamePad is welcome as the DS was for me as well.

Again, every system is worth having, but Nintendo will ultimately be the one getting most of my money, because things are alot more even this time around graphically while still retaining the last generation appeal of having a standard motion control option available.

XBox One is next for me, but if/when Nintendo releases a Starfox, Metroid, and once 3rd parties stop making excuses and support Nintendo with their games, the Wii remote will renew its lease into people's homes along with the touch option that's become standard in gaming since the Nintendo DS.
