Now, I respect a person that enjoys Xbox and/or PS, as long as they're not ranting on how suckish/childish Nintendo is, but if they do do that, well, I'll probably get tired of listening to their whining and go do something else (like writing this). And that's what just happened, a few minutes ago.
I was playing Simon Says on ROBLOX and I bring up that I enjoy Nintendo. Then along comes, you guessed it, the Xbox/PS fanboy. He said that Nintendo makes suckish games that are 'childish' and CoD is awesome. I tell him that I disagree. Then he, like the nincompoop he was, started ranting about how Nintendo sucked and Mario was childish. I brought up that CoD was repetitive, and he said that he didn't care about its repetitiveness (lol). When I told him that he would change his mind about Mario after he played Galaxy, he said he probably wouldn't but he would still watch a YT video of it to see. He then asked me which Galaxy; 1, 2 , or 3 (again, lol). After he returned, he said it sucked. "What's the fun in finding stars?" he had said. I asked him if he also thought that LoZ was also childish. "What's LoZ?" "Legend of Zelda." "Yes, it's childish." I bring up DK, he bashes it. I bring up Pokemon, he bashes it. And when I bring up Metroid, he says "Uh what's that? Either way it probably sucks."
I could go on, but I'm just sick of writing about this guy. So, have you encountered any fanboys like this? (Also, if a topic like this has already been made, tell me now.)
Wow that's worse then what I go through, although the ones that bash me seem to be xenophobes since they use "creepy Asian games" as a deffence

As a multi-console gamer, I have seen this, but it rarely bugs me.
Most people are reasonable about their discussions, usually going with "play what you want" and everybody has fun at the Brawl tournaments at my school. Now if they say ignorant statements, I just laugh at them most of the time (ie; Metroid and Zelda are kiddy crap). worst case scenario I'll argue against them when they claim that the DS is inferior to the smartphone, or if I dislike them I'll just call them some cheap vulgar insult. Maybe I'll let them try Kid Icarus and they change their minds after that oftentimes. People rarely diss the XBOX, except for outdated people (RROD) and those who diss the PS3 rarely even have reasons.
I'll admit, one time ended badly. A kid asked to try out my DSi (smartphone gamer claims that Nintendo is kiddy per usual) and literally THREW IT ON THE GROUND. Socked that person in the face till his nose bled, and even as a person who doesn't believe in violence most of the time I have no qualms about doing that.
So Mario kart is less kiddy then Zelda and Metroid??? I mean I like Mario Kart a lot, but I think Zelda and Metroid are more "adult"

Stay away from GameFAQs, it's home to fanboys of all kinds. Sony fanboys, MS fanboys, Apple fanboys, and Nintendo fanboys that actually defended the 3DS's launch.

How exactly is Mario Kart (very casual appeal with all the luck factors and rubber-banding) more adult then Metroid or Zelda (games which often involve exploration, and to appeal to those bloodlust gamers contain a good amount of multicolor goo)?
This is a signature.
Link goes here now.
Screw you.
You should have shown him the head stabbing scene when Link defeats Ganon in OoT.
Or the scene where Bowser's skin melts in the original NMSB on DS.
It lacks blood, which would make idiots still claim it's a childish game, but, the scene where Link slashes Ganon's face a couple times actually has blood.
Seriously. Ignore them. Feeding them isn't going to get you anywhere, just piss you off. A fanboy doesn't care what argument you make, their opinion won't change.
Still, part of this isn't even an issue with fanboys. There's a cultural stigma saying that a game has to be rated M or else it's "kiddy". This is a western opinion; Japanese gamers have been found to prefer younger protagonists. Gamers from this half of the world, however, want more mature characters and content. It bugs me that games have to be M to be for core gamers. I mean, I noticed Game Informer's list of the top 50 games of 2012, 30 out of the 50 were rated M. Just because it is appropriate for a younger audience to play does not mean it's not appropriate for an adult or older teen.

Well it would help if Samus would sport some belly button once in a while and maybe replace her power bombs with a few f-bombs. M rating here we come! But even then playing any game is childish.
