Topic: Will you buy an NX at launch?

Nope i'm not getting screwed again by Nintendo! No sir!

I'm guessing there will be a huge promotion to get them out the door asap.
NX needs to be sold out and not a Sony/MS style "artificial shortage" so the console becomes a must-program-for for publishers.

Free limited edition amiibo
Free subscription to a new online "nintendo power"
Pre-Order points for the new eshop to get people on it
weather it's a new handheld, home console or hybrid

In order for me not not buy it at launch, it would have to look REALLY bad. Like, if you can't use it to play video games.

Wouldn't it be awesome if Nintendo did some kind of quasi-ambassador program with NX? Like, those of us who currently own a Wii U will get some kind of code by the end of 2016 that will be good for one free game on NX or something.

@DefHalan: Hey, I love Nintendoland lol I remember running around and posting to Miiverse about how nostalgic the whole thing made me feel. Lots of fun to play with friends, too. It's kind of like Mario Party lite haha

Maybe. Depends on games and price. I will not pay more than $309 for whatever it is. If it impresses me I'll get it after tax refund

Maybe. But it will have to have exclusives at launch. Don't want to spend more on the NX when I will probably be able to afford a PS4 or Xbox at cheaper than what the NX will cost. Ninty is going to have to think smart with the launch of NX. Otherwise it could be the Wii U all over again. As amazing as the Wii U is it didnt really stand a chance :/

@rallydefault: So would I, but lots of people wouldn't. NintendoLand and Paintball was the star at my bachelor party, we were actually able to play 5 player multiplayer and really see the benefit of the GamePad. It was awesome.

But yeah, we don't really know what the NX is, anyway. I think it's something my family and I would like, so. If not, then maybe well buy the system later. We're being asked for a decision based on mere speculation and past experience...

@DefHalan I know I totally would. Don't know why there isn't a Nintendo Land 2 for the Wii U yet...

@VeeFlamesNL: lol wouldn't it be awesome if Nintendo Land WAS the main menu of the NX?! Like a theme park where each of the entrances was a menu item and ever time you add something from the eShop it fills your park

Nope. Nintendo has just jacked me over with the Wii U (I'm a day-one owner too BTW). I probably won't be getting a NX until it's cheap and old at the end of it's lifespan. Nintendo destroyed any confidence they had with me in the Wii U and it's probable abandonment for the NX while my PS4 is starting to get really serious.

I'm probably going to buy the NX sometime, but we barely know anything about the NX. It depends on if the launch line-up is good or not. If there's an amazing new innovation in gaming from the NX, that will make me want to buy it sooner as well.

Nintendo is still the only company I would Day 1 a console from, but as with the Wii U, I'm waiting to see what their early library is gonna look like.

If the launch lineup is good enough then sure, given their recent decisions though I expect about a year into its lifespan (or whenever Rock Band 4 stops getting new content).

Can we like keep a tally of the people who say they won't buy one but then later change their minds when Metroid Prime 4, Super Mario Galaxy 3, Animal Crossing, Pikmin 4, Splatoon 2 and loads of 3rd parties are revealed to be it's launch line-up?
