Was hoping to have a 2D Mario or Sonic on launch to help break this system in but Bomberman will do.

@WinterSugoi Sonic Mania is coming at some point but a 2D Mario game the same year as a 3D Mario maybe too much Mario I feel. Best wait off a while and do something new and different with it.

Pre-order price seems to be £59.99 for this game.. If those aren't placeholder prices.. Ouch..

I'm not really surprised if it's true.

I mean, if it's a full game then whatever but y'know...like...

...remember when Bandai Namco tried to sell Tank Tank Tank as a 60 dollar game? I'm not saying it's like that but...not everything should be sold as a 60 dollar game. Even if I could maybe justify that price for myself (if it has enough good content).

I was excited until I saw $60 price tags. Is that the confirmed price? 50 of this game's little levels doesn't sound like nearly enough to justify that. I was expecting a $20 to $40 price.

Planning on getting this with Zelda. $60 seems a little steap but this seems more worth it than 12Switch, even though they both look pretty fun.

With regards to the pre-order pricing; this happens with every title, every generation. Very few retailers stick to a RRP in the long run, because they all end up trying to undercut each other.

Case in point; Splatoon's RRP was £39.99, but Amazon's pre-order price wavered as low was £32.99. The beauty of this is their guarantee that you'll always receive the lowest price, which is why it doesn't hurt to pre-order from day one, and cancel any time if you genuinely think the retailer won't budge. In the case of Splatoon, the change must have occurred only briefly as I recall being shocked when I realised I'd saved that much!

For MK8 Deluxe, I'd bet my left arm that it will go down to between £35-40. And as for 1-2-Switch... is anyone seriously that desperate to have it at launch? It will likely drop another £10 within the first month.

Does anyone know if the Eshop will be there from day 1? I'm going to go 100% digital with switch. Will be pretty hacked off if I cant buy games on launch!

It would be baffling if it wasn't. Wii U's eShop was there day 1.

Oh yes. I'm in full Bomberman hype mode here... you better believe it!

It's only $39.99 at BestBuy with GCU. And with the VISA Checkout $25 Off $100 purchase deal (now ended at midnight), you can score it even lower than that if bundled with $60 of something else (lots of Switch related games/accessories/amiibo to choose from)

@mav-i-am The only places you can pre-order it from are Game online (if you choose to trust it) and ShopTo but I think I read on their site when I considered placing a pre-order that they take the money straight away and will later refund the difference if the price goes down prior to launch.

@DiscoGentleman I'm assuming it will be using the NNID and/or our Nintendo Account, I'm certain our current friend list can be carried over.
Don't know if I'll get it right away, but I will probably get it at least somewhat soon.

I already have my Switch coming from Nintendo and Zelda from Amazon, not sure I want to bring another store into the mix!

@DiscoGentleman
Oh man they ended it early after extending it lol. Was supposed to expire 1/21, then extended to 1/25 and now cut short due to "popular demand". Probably because they failed to enforce a limit on how many times you could use it. They say it's supposed to be once per customer, but if I look at my Best Buy order history I've got about 17 orders put in with the visa checkout promo from the last 2 times they offered it.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/misc/visa-checkout/pcmcat74830065...

It's a $25 Off $100 purchase promo they run to get you to use VISA Checkout (kind of like using PayPal Checkout except with a VISA). But now was the perfect time for it because there's all this Switch stuff coming out. I always try to take advantage whenever they run the promo. This was just really good timing.

@Emperor-Palpsy Thanks for the link. At time of posting it's not showing up on the Android app so would never have known it was there. Took them long enough to put it up though.

@FragRed No prob. Here's the synopsis:

-3D stages with dynamic environments
-Bomberman (lol)
-Battle mode for maximum of 8 players, local connection battles, and online battles
-Enriched story with all-star voice actors

The Bomberman series has been delighting fans with its stunning multiplayer action since 1983. The premise of the game is simple: guide your chosen Bomberman around a maze-like play area using timed bombs to open walkways and take out players or CPU-controlled adversaries. Super Bomberman R retains these core elements but places them with updated visuals that offer greater detail while still remaining faithful to the series' origins.

Super Bomberman R makes full use of the Nintendo Switch system capabilities, which enables gamers to play wherever, whenever and with whomever they choose. Super Bomberman R offers a 'Battle' mode where up to eight players are dropped within a maze until the 'last man standing' is declared the winner. There is also a 'Story' mode where one to two players work cooperatively to clear a series of 50 stages in order to save the galaxy.

All key Bomberman elements return for the Nintendo Switch title, including useful items found within the destructible areas of each maze. Removing a wall will often reveal a power-up to extend the range of the explosion or endow the user's Bomberman with a useful skill. These include faster movement, the ability to kick or throw bombs, and more. Thus, as players gain ever more devastating capabilities, they must use all their skill and ingenuity to ensure their opponents get caught in a blast while avoiding its fiery touch!

@Emperor-Palpsy Thanks for the additional information. I did also laugh at that second bulletin point. Like Bomberman being in the game is some kind of crazy new feature. Also "all star voice actors"? That could mean pretty much anything in the world of video games. Are we going to be getting excellent voice over work by Nolan North or some real poor performances by people who simply turned up for a pay cheque? Especially as no names are mentioned.
