@GoldenGamer88 I've been grinding for Ink Resistance for what feels like an absolute age, so the Splatfest couldn't come soon enough! ..unfortunately, I'm going to have to sacrifice Ninja Squid for a little while (only available on tops) - but the scrub discount makes it sooooo worth it! ..only 17 chunks to go! (..the grind is real!)

@Dev Tbh, while Pearl and Marina announced the theme, I was certain it was a Halloween trick and they'd announce the real theme at the end of the announcements but then the Tenta Brella and stage announcements went by and once I stood in front of the booth to choose my side, it fully hit me. They were absolutely serious. Nintendo, what're you smoking up there?

Looking back on the original stages, there are actually a few that I hope don't return. I'm not a fan of SS Rig - it felt way to easy to hang onto the Splatzone forever there (and did it even have a Rainmaker map?).

It's been a long time, but I recall Rainmaker on Saltspray being really wonky, with heavy modifications to make it work. Saltspray was certainly an interesting stage and I don't regret its existence, but whether it really functioned well is a different question. It's also a bit crazy that it was one of the very first stages when they were supposed to be leading with simpler ones.

On that note, if Splatoon 2's stages seem simple so far, it may be because they're actually following that plan this time. For the most part I've grown to like them anyway, though. They're underwhelming at first, but you appreciate their naunces after a while.

@Dev You'd think the bigger bathroom debate would be toilet seat up vs. down, but I guess that was too gender-biased.

Alone, a force. Together, a force of nature.

Now I have the weird realisation that Inklings also have a digestive system and the need to relieve. Just...

Also this competition seems unfair, because I'm pretty sure ''In Front'' already has popularity in its pocket.

Ehm, okay... they must've been drunk or something? How is this even up for debate? I always assumed that front roll was the only way. And it is. Just take a look at the comments under NoE's Twitter post (which are hilarious, btw). Some have even pointed out that the original patent included the front roll.

This is really stupid. The vote is already decided and everyone will have to play against their own team. What gives, Nintendo?!
I really love Splatoon, but most of its Splatfest themes have been crappy, right from the start (in both games).

Glad to switch to a different topic... @Maxz: yeah, Saltspray Rig was broken on RM. In the early days (when I had no clue what I was doing ) I liked playing SZ on that stage. Later though not so much. So this is one of the few stages that I definitely don't want to return.

The apartment block stage you mentioned was Flounder Heights, which is definitely one of my all-time
favourites and my first candidate for a return.

The 'trick' about Mahi Mahi resort was to avoid the open centre (you're right, it was very exposed) and use the various paths around it. That's what I loved about that map, you had a lot of different options to get to your goal and all of them were kind of tricky to navigate, so it was not meant for newcomers but more experienced squids.
In SZ though, I sometimes enjoyed the frantic war zone in the centre of the map. ^^

My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!

@Sir_Anthony Don't be so sure. There are a lot of people out there who go with Marina no matter what. I'm just glad when it's over next week. Gonna have at least 21 Super Sea Snails and two gigantic toilet paper rolls won't be hanging above the square anymore, reminding every squid and kid that this is the theme their creators went with. Good job, Nintendo, November's theme will be Jake Paul versus Logan Paul!

The Tenta Brella is not at all my kind of weapon. The ending lag is hilariously long, and it brings it way down. Otherwise, it's a good weapon, but that ending lag ruins it for me.

@Tsurii I like Pearlie because ... well, everybody loves Marina so Pearl often ends up neglected because of that, and I feel kinda sorry for the little cutie. Also, she has mentioned she owns a Splattershot and Inkbrush as well.

Aww, I hope you don't mean my little Buckie Boo, the Tri-Slosher, with that. It already got a range nerf last patch and I honestly hope that's all it ever needs. Was having a bit of a bad splatday before you arrived with people disconnecting left and right or people who suck with the Brellas trying out the Tenta Brella and playing even worse so I took out my best weapon. Sorry, you were at the other end of it, was always hoping we'd end up on the same team.

Anyway, yeah, the Tri-Slosher can be quite good if used as part of a surprise attack. If not, well, it's gonna be a bit harder due to its short range compared to most other weapons. The Slosher and Sloshing Machine have much more range but aren't the best at close quarters or inking the turf, if you ask me. But you'll have to try those for yourself.

Yeah, the slosher may have more range, but close quarters combat is definitely it's main weakness. I thought up-close battles were a lot easier in the original when the vanilla slosher had burst bombs; but now that it has suction bombs, I find myself having to stay a lot farther back. The slosher does the most damage at the end of the slosh, so that isn't helpful when it comes to close quarters combat, either. So I try to keep a safe distance at all times, since I almost always end up losing close battles for those reasons. XD

I also agree that the Tri-Slosher is the best slosher for inking turf, but I love how the vanilla slosher can ink higher platforms so easily. I'm so used to the vanilla slosher by now that using it in turf war isn't a problem for me anyway.

...I guess I'll be team "Front Roll," even though I'm pretty sure I do it different each time.

Darn it, Nintendo combined our Splatfests with Europe's and now we get all of your lame Splatfest topics

Got married.

Haha, yeah, Tri-Slosher, like the name implies, throws ink in three directions at a time, making it easier to paint turf and hit opponents at the cost of range (though Burst Bombs negate that imo). The Slosher, like the Sloshing Machine, only throws in one direction, forcing you to be more precise when aiming for an opponent and, in my humble opinion, making painting turf a pain but has good range both horizontally and vertically (e.g., you could throw your ink over the small barricades surrounding Kelp Dome's centre to the other side). The Sloshing Machine is what you get when a Slosher and a Blaster have a baby. Its range and damage are quite similar to the Slosher but it somewhat acts more like a Blaster with the most damage done at the end of the blast as it bursts upon hitting the ground or an enemy Inkling. You may not be ready for Ranked Modes just yet but I love using the Sloshing Machine in Tower Control, especially for the Stingray.

I have no recollection of DC'ing on you in the last match. The last match we've had was on Humpback with us winning 50 to 42. Afterwards, I quit because I had to have my slots scrubbed by Murch (still sounds a bit suggestive no matter how often I say it).

So I'd be back roll. I have cats and they'll unroll the whole thing if I don't do it that way. I actually love the ridiculous themes, it is so hilarious. Remember people, this is just for fun. Not gonna lie, this is my favorite one yet with how ludicrous it is. I can't wait to see all the art. The stuff on twitter is already great.

@BLP_Software Yeah, had the same thing today as well. The first one disconnected right at the start, the second later on because it became apparent we'd be losing hard. The third eventually decided to squid party at the spawn, leaving me the only one to actually try and save the sinking ship (no, it sadly wasn't on Manta Maria ). I hate it when people leave just because one disconnected. I've won a bunch of battles 3 v 4 so it's definitely possible to win with just 3. But with 2? Not so much.
