Topic: Splatoon 2

This time you gotta pay for that squid-kid time though.

So the only way to play 4 player offline local multiplayer is if I have 4 Switch consoles. Epic fail Nintendo.

I've been saying it for over a year now that they have been getting Splatoon 2 ready for the switch and said it should be launch. I was close enough lol. What's scary is this game is just 8 months or less away!

Loved Splatoon.Now if only the fee to play this is online isn't that high. Hope will be released when I get some time off for the summer ^_^

I hope this is wrong but Nintendo.com lists the release date as 30 Sep at the bottom of this page but the game page itself states summer.. http://www.nintendo.com/games/detail/arms-switch

@jump September 30 is a weird placeholder date. On the Splatoon 2 page, when I scroll down, it says June 30 for Arms, but we know it's coming earlier than that, because on the page itself it says Spring 2017.

Were the dates given in the presentation for Japan?

So far, this game (and ARMS) would be the only things that could make me buy a Switch and pay for the online subscription. I assume there will be more games that could lure me into buying a Switch, but Splatoon 2 will be the only game that I would pay the so much hated fee for!

And it says summer 2017 everywhere, so I'm expecting it to release in June or July...

I cNt be hyped for this game just yet. I need to see more information, such as does it have a single player campaign - one that is more fleshed out than the first? If so then I'll be more likely get it day one. Not saying the multiplayer was bad because it was awesome. But, for me, I need more than just multiplayer.

@Spoony_Tech It needed to be a sequel to get me back in I think.1000+ hours of the original was enough to kill any hype for an updated port but knowing we're getting a sequel has me fairly hyped again.More maps,modes,weapons,gear and mechanics are a given but I hope to see a much bigger single player campaign.I loved playing through that,it kind of felt like we got 2 games in one.

I'm pretty excited, to be honest. After I finish Breath of the Wild, I can see my summer being filled with Mario Kart Deluxe and Splatoon 2. Not too shabby.

Does anyone think with the introduction of paid online (with Splatoon gonna be the hardest hit by it) they will introduce the option to have squad battles with just AIs?

Well yeah. How the hell would you play split screen on Splatoon? It wouldn't work.

Never got Splatoon for Wii U and when it got apparent that a new Splatoon was gonna show up early in lifespan of Switch I decided to wait until I get a Switch to discover the world of Splatoon. The trailer makes me really excited with all it's fun intensity.

I have a feeling a lot of people will be saying this about many games.

I never got a Wii U, but Splatoon nearly made me get one on several occasions. I'll be happy to get a Switch and get in the Splatoon action as well very soon! Nintendo definitely nailed it with this one.

Why wouldn't it work. Of course it could work.

And for me to be interested in this it needs more of an offline offering. 4-player split, single player Vs CPU battles, grander single-player campaign. I love Splatoon, but the online side of it is not enough for me to go again.

I think Nintendo forced them to create a single player last time because they were unsure it would be a hit. Now that they know it's a hit don't be surprised if they don't have single player.

@Spoony_Tech The trailer hinted at some lore/single player stuff. I highly doubt they're leaving that out.

I think the whole "splatoon is a port rumor" made me not really notice this game. But now I'm really excited about this sequel, it's gonna be fantastic. I also really like that I can now charge my "sniper" rifle and dive into the ink without losing the charge...
