But as the previous commenter stated it was on Wii which could be played on Wii U. That too may have been a factor. Why buy a €60 Wii U version when the Wii version is available for peanuts? They don't have to worry about backwards compatibility on Switch.
Once you reboot the system it doesn't hang on the loading screen any more.

A whole whopping 3 boards. They are Amusement Park theme, Haunted theme and Classic theme. Strange that the game released on October 31st and one of the 3 included is the Haunted theme. Why do I've the feeling this game has a bunch of boards as paid for DLC? Can anyone confirm? The game is already overpriced at €40, is buggy and there was some serious framerate dips on that brief shot of the Haunted theme. I haven't seen any reviews from any major sies but reading impressions and watching videos from regular people it sounds really bad. I expect NL will have a review up soon, next week possibly.
The 700MB day 1 update isn't required to play the game (I've tried it beforehand), though I'm baffled as to why an update would take up such a colossal amount of space relative to the size of the full game (but then Ubisoft are notorious for their poor compression and optimisation, see Assassin's Creed).
The game itself is fine, however, I would have appreciated 8 player local multiplayer. It's not as if limitations on the amount of allocable Monopoly money would need to be imposed in a virtual environment (which is one of the reasons why the actual board game isn't ideal for a large number of players, unless one were to purchase extra Monopoly money).
There are 5 board games in total (the three new "Living" boards, the classic board, and a Rabbids board, which is just the classic board embellished with images of the Rabbids and some new location names from what I'd seen).
It's certainly a great alternative to carrying the physical board game around, however, I wish that more boards were available on the cartridge. I wouldn't mind buying a future instalment, say, that included the official Nintendo-themed boards (such as the Super Mario and Pokémon themed boards).
Perfect timing dude. Literally was just about to pick this up so I can have something to play visiting family. Will check out Rento for sure. @flashmandv

Always looking for new friends so drop a add when ya can.
@Silly_G if you talk about graphics - yes, Monopoly Plus has the best graphics and animations..but if we talk about price, gameplay, strategy, features, cross-platforms and online multiplayer - Rento is the clear winner.
Basically Rento supports all mobile platforms (free on Android and iOS) + PS4, Xbox, Steam & WEB.
They are all connected to single server, so your father can play from iOS, and you can play from Switch and your sister from PS4 or whatever.
So hows the game now that it's been a while. What problems does this game still have? I played the demo and it seemed to play pretty slow. Does Quick Die fix that?
@KaiserGX I honestly haven't played the game recently, but around new years, my friend and I played a couple rounds on the train and in the hotel in the evening while we were visiting Tokyo and it was a lot of fun. Zero issues with glitches or lag. Only thing I disliked was that there are unlockables. It's just a board game, just give me all the pieces at the start! But they are all cosmetic things.
They could have done a lot more with the game though. With all the awesome "skins" of Monopoly over the years, they could have included those. At least the Nintendo themed boards like Mario, Zelda and Pokemon.

I actually enjoy the Gamer edition more fun then the traditional Monopoly. For one thing the gamed go much faster plus I love the whole "Mario Kart" element to it with the powers and abilities too. I am half tempted to get the Mario Kart version as well but right now my money is tied up elseware.
Eh, I have Monopoly Plus on xbox, and a (admittedly easy to win at) handheld Monopoly game. Plus people I can pull out the physical board game to play with. Not that excited about this one.
I downloaded it. I had fun, and love using the classic board in tabletop mode. Much easier to follow than the 3D boards. The only thing that takes a bit is for the CPU to take it's turn. I'm like what are you waiting for just throw the dice.
@Tasuki
I would highly recommend the Mario Kart version. We have both and enjoy them a lot. The Mario Kart version adds some extra elements that make it so much fun.
8 Months. That's how long this thread has been sleeping. Suddenly, someone makes an account and posts a comment on the Rento game page, then searches the forum for 'monopoly'. Says nothing of any contribution, just an unhelpful "that game bad, this game good" comment, and now we're all talking about durn Monopoly again! RAWR.
It's been a long day... But to echo @Silly_G, Rento looks generic as all get out.
