Topic: How do you pronounce Bros?

Just curious which people use...

1) Bros
2) Brothers

With a silent 'k'.

I tend to go with Brrûûûaaaahs.

How do you pronounce Shenmue? Is it Shen-mu-ee? That's what my head tells me.

It's almost always written as "bros" so here we usually just say bros.

Shenmue I think I've heard it as shen-moo.

I say it in English, or alternately in Bad English.

@embison I'd say we pronounce it as it was intended, seeing as "Bros" is just short for brothers.
So, it's either pronounced as "Brothers", or just literally, as it is written, which is pronounced as "Broe's" (sounding exactly like show, toe, glow or throw). Can't make it any simpler than that.

@Cobalt Funny you should say that, because I kinda thought of the same thing. Easy thing to keep them apart is that the pop group is written with two S'es. That's also the reason for the difference in pronunciation between Bros and Bross...

I've have always said brothers. Bross is the right sound even tho I avoid it like the plague lol.
(But whoever says bros to sound like toes is strictly speaking wrong. There is no apostrophe. But meh, it's widely accepted)

@GrailUK Bro /bɹəʊ/, just like slow /sləʊ/, faux /fəʊ/, and toe /təʊ/. You don't write the plural of toe as ''toe's'' either
