Judging what Blizzard has done with games on other systems (e.g. Overwatch on PS4/XB1), I think Diablo 3 will be on a 1GB cart with the rest of the game being a compulsory download.
The major difference is that Overwatch is a "live" game that's still in development. Where as Diablo 3 is in maintenance mode, with no future DLC planned. Now that Blizzard is ramping up production on multiple new Diablo projects, Diablo 3 is a finished product essentially. So it'll be interesting to see if the $60 price tag is to either gouge the player base or if Blizzard is budgeting for the 32GB game cart.

@Nekoo77 - that trailer IS HYPE! Look at that box art at the end. No ugly "required download" banner. Excuse me, I need to go preorder this. Posthaste!

Diablo is regarded as the best dark fantasy RPG series. Most hack&slays or dungeon crawlers you play today are inspired by Diablo.
I would agree that Diablo and Diablo 2 fit that bill but Diablo 3 does not. It's a lazy squeal with a dull story, boring character progression, and too much of a World of Warcraft aesthetic. It was such a poor experience I quit when I got to the fourth act and haven't touched it since.
If you want dark fantasy, I think people are better off with Grim Dawn.
If atleast cross-save won't happen then it get same fate as Paladins gotta from me, didn't pick up, because didn't wanted play same game, but with 2 diferent saves. Plus I own the game on PC, so it's extra reason I won't pick up game if it won't have have cross-save. So I hope it will have cross-save. And probably 90+% Switch owners already own D3 on PC or other console, so.

I doubt D3 will support cross play. I also wonder if the Switch version of D3 will be the only version to not require a BattleNet account? How else are we able to play four player local co-op on one Switch? Are all four characters tied to one BattleNet account?

Pretty much false across the board. Diablo 3 is the crown jewel of action RPGs.
I don't think we are going to be able to play 4-player local co-op on one Switch.
Official announcement implies 4-player co-op on one system.
"Jump into local, action-RPG multiplayer with up to three friends, and crush demons from your comfiest couch cushions, no internet required—or fill out the ranks of your party online. You can play Diablo III shared-screen on a single Switch™, remotely on up to four Switches™, or combine TV and handheld play." https://us.diablo3.com/en/switch

I'm not going to waste my time trying to convince you otherwise.
As to the rest, we'll have to wait and see. I'd be quite surprised if 4 people could play shared screen on a Switch. I fully expect 2 but imagine 4 will be tricky to pull off.
Also the Xbox 360 version is less than 8GB. The PS3 and PS4 are bloated and I have no idea why. The Xbox One version is around 22GB I think.
If they want 60$ they should commit to making sure the game is ALL on the cart with ALL expansions it will be an easy buy.
Not entirely possible since the game does get updates regularly.
EDIT: Watching the trailer, one thing I didn't see was them using a single joy con for a controller. So for local multiplayer you'll need multiple sets of them?

I'm wondering that as well. I'd like to play co-op with my son, but I don't want to spend another $80 to do it. However, I just can't see how a single Joy-Con has enough buttons to pull it off.
