@GameOtaku
I wonder why Legends never got re-released. Is there some kind of ownership rights issues with that game?

@Wavey84
Is it even possible to port the DS Castlevania games to current consoles?

Apparently the N64 Castlevania games are skipped over as well in addition to Legends. Maybe they will be on N64 NSO?

I've played quite a bit of Aria of Sorrow randomizer, and it makes you appreciate how good some of the other weapons can be, and when you should be using them.

For the boss battle before the final boss, Kaladbolg or Balmung are particularly good choices, Vjaya and Laevatain are also good, and if you have it, Positron Rifle is very useful.
A few weapons with multi-hits like Vjaya, Positron Rifle, and Gungner pair well with the Succubus soul effect for health recovery, that enchantment (yellow) soul is a bit too useful.

So I'd been planning on getting Symphony of the Night for a while on PS3. Which would leave Bloodlines and Dracula X/Rondo of Blood as the main 2d Castlevanias I never played.

So now I can just get both on Switch if I want. Suddenly. Just like that. So surprisingly, Dracula X might be the thing that pushes me to get this.

Got all three plus rondo on my SNES mini so this doesn't exactly get me excited. Great for first timers though. If you haven't played them you simply must if you're a CV fan!

Not as far as I know. It released around the same time as SotN and was overshadowed and written out of the canon by Iga and the Belmont origin was instead replaced by Leon Belmont is Lament of Innocence. The reason? He didn’t like the idea of a female Belmont.

And yes we have DS games on Switch right now, Megaman ZX and ZX advent.

@Wavey84 It's not up to Konami if Castlevania Requim gets released on Switch that's up to Sony as they are the ones that funded the game which is why it wasn't released on Nintendo or Microsoft consoles unlike the Advance Collection.

Also it would be hard to bring Dawn of Sarrow to the Switch considering how much that game makes use of having Dual screens.

@Tasuki Well only for Drawing the seals and destroying the ice blocks. But both of those could be tweaked like in the romhack. The seals are automatically drawn and the ice blocks could be destroyed with weapon attack after you get Balore's soul.

Tasuki

Also I might be getting confused here its been years since I played Aria of Sorrow but weren't there a few souls that you could only get by trading via the link cable?? I remember my friend and I trading Souls in that game but don't remember if that was the only way to get a couple of them.

Playing circle of the moon atm. Not sure If I stumbled onto something I shouldn't have yet, but im in the underground waterway and made it to the boss. What sucks is I'm getting damaged by the poisonous water so I go into the boss fight without full health. Do I need a special item before making my way there?

Here's how I would've done the collections:

Anniversary Collection:
Castlevania
II: Simon's Quest
III: Dracula's Curse
Super Castlevania IV
The Adventure
II: Belmont's Revenge
Bloodlines
Rondo of Blood

Gaiden Collection:
(games that don't fit elsewhere for various reasons)
Vampire Killer
Dracula X
Legends
Chronicles
The Adventure Rebirth

Anniversary Collection 2:
Symphony of the Night
Circle of the Moon
Harmony of Dissonance
Aria of Sorrow
Dawn of Sorrow
Portrait of Ruin
Order of Ecclesia

3D Collection:
64
Legacy of Darkness
Lament of Innocence
Curse of Darkness
Judgement

Shadow Collection:
Lords of Shadow
Mirror of Fate
Lords of Shadow 2

Maybe fill out the Gaiden Collection with the Kid Dracula games? I missed out the phone games, but Order of Shadows could maybe go in Gaiden, perhaps Grimoire of Souls too?

The multiplayer console game Harmony of Despair could be squeezed into Gaiden or Anniversary Collection 2?

Judgement could maybe go in Gaiden, and then perhaps push the Lords of Shadow games into the 3D collection? I'm not sure where to put Dracula X Chronicles, seeing as it has a 2.5D remake of Rondo, as well as also including the original Rondo as well as SotN...

I mostly tried to theme each collection, but some could go either way, so it left me scratching my head as to where to put them

I'm guessing we're not getting a collection of the DS games this halloween, unless it gets like announced last second or shadow-dropped

like all the retro collections these days theres 1 title you'll play alot the rest is filler ... Not a patch on the midway arcade treasures trilogy or activision anthogy

Wow, those people are wrong. Dracula X is considered to be meh only by the fact that its not as good as the game its a port of (Rondo of Blood), and the GBA games are all very good. Harmony of Dissonance's issues are really overstated and Circle of the Moon's biggest issue was more that the original GBA had issues more than the game itself. I think it comes from weirdos where if a game isn't as good as another game, its automatically not worth it somehow.

I underestimated how flawed Dracula X would be but I'd still not call it meh. Though arguably filler since this A. could've been on NSO and B. is a worse version of a game that could've been on this. This is the closest to anything I was wrong about.

I'm annoyed there isn't an option to rebind controls.

@Zuljaras I only played Aria of Sorrow briefly, but I was annoyed how jump/cancel and attack/accept were tied together. You can move those around to different inputs, but I want those reversed. Jump/accept and attack/cancel.

Or maybe they were reversed? I don't know. It was late and I was tired.

All I know is that I was annoyed.

Maybe I'll look at options again...at some point. Maybe.

@Magician I was surprised that the controls rebind option was missing (actually removed) from the in-game menu but when you open the Advanced collection special menu with all the modern option you will see "Controls settings" button where you can bind every key as you wish
