So with Pokemon Go having friends and all now, I am kinda surprised they haven't linked the game to Nintendo accounts. Like we have with Pocket Camp, FE: Heroes and Super Mario Run. Also surprised and annoyed that we can't get any bonuses via Nintendo rewards like those other titles. I know Niantic is the company behind Go, but they are in partnership with Game Freak and Nintendo, so I'd have expected more co-operation. Perhaps this connectivity will come along with the release of Pokemon Let's Go since Go and Let's Go are slated to interact in some way.

Stops/gyms are actually added by Ingress users. So if you don't have and have never had an active Ingress community in your area you're out of luck. And short of allowing Pokemon Go users to submit stops I'm not sure how else they could realistically do this. It's not like there are many local level, upto date databases of points of interests that are accessible by foot....

I don't know why Go can't do it...it's just...ugh. I wanted to give this game a chance, but I don't want to constantly spend $5 just to catch a couple of Pokemon. (because the catching system is bs and I end up wasting tons of balls because they dodge/attack at the very last second...)

You can literally just sit next to a pokestop for an hour or so drinking coffee and you'll get enough pokeballs for a while

Alright, I downloaded Ingress...still a ghost town. If this works and I can at least get ONE STOP to appear near in my area, then I'll get back into Pokemon Go.

...Now to figure out how to submit portals and hope they appear...and show up in Go. lol

You know what, I got better things to do than waste my time with Niantic's crap.

Niantic screwed up big time this weekend in Japan. During the Beldum community day event the servers completely blew up, crashing repeatedly and making the game completely unplayable for 95% of the event. It was a colossal failure to the degree I haven't seen since the game launched. As I understand it, they managed to fix it by the time the event started in North America, but here in Japan, we all got screwed.

And to top it off, after the event ended, just to rub salt in the wound, as the servers came back online finally, they nerfed gen 4 Pokemon spawn rates. Now the new Pokemon are far and few between! Like Niantic was saying "Haha, we screwed your event over, and we took away the other positive of the new Pokemon! Sucks to be you!"

I just started playing this, after very briefly trying it out right after launch.
I'm in a more urban area that allows me to walk around and hunt for Pokemon.
