Topic: Where the Wild Things Are Hype thread

I do hope I'm not the only one totally pumped for this movie!

It does seem like a good movie from what I've seen in the trailer. And it's based off a child's book; is the child's book good?

it looks pretty feel good and lighthearted. i want to see it as well as my friend but my sister hates it

You're not. Judging from previews, it's visionary.

I loved the book. It's my second favourite childrens book of all time.

The book is awsome.
I cans till remember it after years of not reading it. And mind you, its a picture book.

uuugh. I'm sorry.. I loved the book when I was little (And still do!). But I feel like, from seeing the trailer, that they sort of ruined the book. IMO it just seems like they made the monsters look a little.......Stupid to put it bluntly.

The paper gave it 5/5 stars today in their review! And they NEVER give movies perfect scores. I'm seeing it this evening! Can't wait!

Saw the movie last night. Its hard to describe my feelings for the film, but its definately worth seeing (bring a friend or your special someone.)

One of the best movies I've ever seen. See it at all costs!

I agree. It is now my favourite movie. Always, with book to movie translations, something is left behind along the way. WTWTA is the first movie to take the book and its plot, and put in MORE than what was there, losing nothing and gaining everything. It's as if the book was just a small look at the world and the movie comes along and says, "Oh, and this happened too, let me show you..."

Where The Wild Things Are is a work of art, shall go down in history as every bit a classic as the book, and will forever show what a book to a movie can accomplish.

pretty easy to add to this when the book is like super super short.

Much agreed. As cliche as this sounds, it's an instant classic.

@advance_melee: No it isn't. They had to nail what the book is, what it represents, and then around that create everything else.

i never really liked the book so ill just rent it when i comes on DVD

and all i think about when i hear the title is the Land of the Wild Feast from the Simpsons.

I'm pretty sure the book came out long before Matt Groening was even born.

This may seem kinda random but what trailers are before the movie? I'm going to see it anyway on Thursday but I'm curious.
