actually the only reason sonic came around is because it rivaled mario

then sega would have brought video games back from the grave in 1985. this means that the Saturn would have never failed and a whole new 32 bit era would have been ushered in. because of this, gaming would skip the 64 bit era and go into the 96 or 128 bit era next. Sony would have never entered the gaming realm because they would have never collaborated with nintendo for the SNES CD upgrade.This means that the Dreamcast would have had games such as Resident Evil and Final Fantasy 7 going for it. in 2001, the first threat to Sega's dynasty would have entered, the Xbox. however with all companies working with the Dreamcast, it would eventually die off. this creates a monopoly for Sega. they take over the world. the end
