I just wanted to share this with anyone looking to bother buying Cooking Mama 5 - 3DS at Wal-Mart. I went into Wal-Mart with the intent to buy Cooking Mama 5 - 3DS & went back to the video game section I looked in the case & the game was not there so I went to find some one to help me out & see what was going on. When I asked the Sales Clerk about Cooking Mama 5 - 3DS the guy was very snippy & said we don't get games the exact day there released sometimes a couple days later & not all games come to our store then he asked me if there was a sticker in the case for the game I said no. Then he asked me the name of the game again. I said Cooking Mama 5 - 3DS. He went to look in the case came back after about 2 mins & asked me again what the name of the game was after he just looked for the game which didn't make sense to me. Then I started to walk off out of disgust then he said fine you don't believe me & swung the computer around & said go ahead type in the name of the game your looking for if you don't believe me. So I did. I typed in Cooking Mama 5 - 3DS & on there own website in the store the grilling section pulled up on the website I told the sales clerk the grilling section pulled up he looked at the computer & said sorry were sold out online of the game. I said I came here to buy the game in cartridge form not online. Then the sales clerk said real snippy do you think we think we get in every game that comes in? I said no but if it's listed on your website for Sept 16th then one would assume your store would be selling the game. After that i went over to Giant Eagle & bought $20 e-shop card & download the game...

This expercience is one of the many reason's I switched over to downloading alot of my games from having to deal with people in stores....

Just thought the above was worth sharing I realize this is not Wal-Mart & is NintendoLife but still wanted to share this expercience any ways...

Happy Gaming! (^_^)

It's true that Wal-Mart doesn't get new games on the day of their release. However, he did sound like a bit of a jerk. That sales associate might have been having a really bad day. It's difficult to find good, genuine cusomter service these days. Try not to let it frustrate you!

Did you end up downloading it then? And if so, how is it?

I will wait until I have viewed security camera footage and spoken to the Wal-Mart employee before I give my opinion on this matter

When i was abot 10, i had $20 bucks when i entered the aisle and when i left, i didn't have the money, i went back to the aisle, and no money was there. Someone say a twenty on the floor and kept it and i was sad.

Just say no to Wal-Mart. There is always an alternative.

Gamestop is a pretty terrible place too with the practices they teach. People employed there hate the place. They're told to always talk about preorders with the customer during or after the purchase. Employees can be fired and hired super fast easily. They can also deny you from buying a game for reasons that don't have to do with age requirements! They don't do Midnight releases on Nintendo games anymore here in New York. I stopped renewing my Gamestop Pro card and started downloading instead.

Bottom line? I recommend shopping somewhere else or download.

I'm sorry to say I prefer Walmart to GameStop for buying games brand new. At GameStop, all the supposedly "new" games have the shrink wrap taken off and that big ugly NEW sticker on the cover. Ew.

Ha, i have a great gamestop then, mine doesn't do that!

For me both places are just as bad hence why I go to Amazon or Target.

How come I only hear of these "horror stories"? I've never had awful service at a GameStop or Walmart. Sure, some people seemed a little indifferent, but they did their job as it should be done.
Sometimes I think people expect/demand too much from retail stores :/

I don't think I've bought a game in an actual store since about 2008. Customer service is hit and miss, but there's always the option to just bypass it entirely.

I remember going to the pokemon x and y launch there and they weren't even set up! I had to ask the employee about the game and he actred like he didn't know when they were to be released... On the official release date and of course I had to convince them I preordered it there because thir stupid scanner wasn't working.

I never went to GameStop, and good thing. Their Customer Service is so cheap and they barely have anything interesting there.

Honestly I think you guys are well off here in the States. In St. Maarten we don't even HAVE game stores. Just electronics stores with some games on display off in a corner somewhere maybe.

Once you're done browsing the 10 or so different games they have, each selling at $60 or so, and you inevitably don't find anything you're looking for, you can go to the one other electronics store with games on the side to see if they have it in THEIR stock of 10 or so games. If not, too bad. Nobody sells eShop cards.

TLDR: I'm grateful to have a Gamestop to go to now that I'm back in the states and will never complain about them again.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Never had a huge problem with Walmart. They price match and I know someone who can get me a 10% discount because she works there. So, if I were to buy a physical copy of a game, Walmart for me would be a strong consideration.
However, I have had this game problem at EB Games involving Sonic Lost World 3DS. Not only did they not have the game, but I Pre-Ordered the copy. Shouldn't that alone have guaranteed that they had at least one on stock? For a gaming dedicated retailer, they can be abysmal sometimes.

Welcome back to the mainland, bro! I remember all those nightmare stories you told of having no video games stores there.

My issue with walmart is the pricing. I live in NC and I have walmarts around me that are still selling NHL 08 for 60 bucks.
