RPGs are awesome, and any of these will be a good option.

I would recommend Pokemon: Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky. I understand why many do not like this game, but I'm going to explain why I like it. =P

I love RPG's. The main draw of these games to me is that the player starts off weak, but through proper training and raising of your character, he can become powerful and take on more challenging enemies. Grinding is prevalent here, but that is something that I don't mind.
Post-game content. I have never played a game that had so much post-game content. Even after the main story is over, there is still plenty to accomplish.
The story. I really like the story of these games. The dialogue can loop at some parts, but the game itself is aimed at a younger audience, so I'm okay with that. The game covers friendship and trust, two topics which I enjoy to read about. This makes for a more compelling story in my opinion.

If anyone would just like a good, platforming game, then I'd have to recommend Klonoa for the Wii. The game keeps classic platforming intact, while adding its own thing. The story is there, which I also enjoyed, however; I think the gameplay takes the precedent here. Also, the difficulty has been toned down from the original release, but the later levels can get pretty challenging. For those who want a greater challenge, there are plenty hidden challenge rooms that will push your platforming skills to the limit (these are unlocked after beating the game).
The only negative about this game (for me personally) is the overall length. There are extras to keep you coming back for more, however; the main game can be completed in 4 hours.

I second Ys Book I & II and Zelda II.
Neutopia is decent but not great. Neutopia II is better with a more polished graphical style and 8-directional movement.

Haven't played Neutopia II, I still haven't beaten Neutopia I. Should I still get the sequel despite the fact that I've haven't finished the original?

I don't see why not. At the very least you could get a start on the second while still working your way through the first.

I'm actually pretty happy FF4 didn't get called, since I'm stuck beyond belief in that game, and I don't want to start a new game until I get it for the VC.

Anywho, I put the choices through a randomizer, and Secret of Mana came out on top. I must say, that game is a lot more fun than I remember it being, but the AI is still game-ruiningly retarded. I can't believe how easily your partners get stuck to the point where you have to reload your save in order to unstick 'um.

I agree about the AI, mic. It makes you switch between characters (through Select or Start) just to get on your way.
Also, glad to see you picked SoM, it's a good RPG.

Next time I go to the store, I'll have this incredibly difficult choice of BIS or Contra 4. I'm leaning towards Contra right now, but I'd like your opinions.
BTW, I'm stuck in FFIV too, but I don't want to spoil the story for anyone. Lets just say it's very far in the game.

I'd highly recommend Contra 4...although, I do have to admit, the game is pretty much bullet hell. Don't expect to make much progress on any difficuly higher than the easiest. It's still a blast either way, though.

By pressing either the Start or Select button, I forget (haven't played it in weeks). Try it; you'll find yourself controlling either the girl or Sprite besides just the boy.

Well, that'll make things a lot less painfull. Thanks! I swear, I always learn something new everytime I play that game, and every time I play it, it gets a little better. Who knows, maybe someday I'll actually like it?

Well then, it's probably Contra for me. Don't worry, I'll work my way up to hard!

Wii.

I recommend the awesomeness that Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure. :3 If you're staring Streets of Rage for the first time, start with 2, then 3.

Asside from the very awkward control scheme(I highly recommend giving training mode several runthroughs before tackling the actual game), it's really an incredible game. A bit on the difficult side, fun gameplay, awesome bosses, a crazy storyline, and tons of opportunities for bonuses that really reward skill and practice. What's not to love?

Really, unless you just hate Rail shooters, I'd recommend you get it ASAP. It's honestly the best of its kind, IMO.

Depends, do you want a relatively easy game, or a game that'll kick your @$$ up and down the block?
