Anti-Matter

I want to ask your opinion.
Do you think my decision is really contradictive when i banned FF VII, FF VII R and FF XV from my gaming area for inappropriate contents that i will never accept but i still okay with Chibi Cloud / Chibi Noctis on World of Final Fantasy MAXIMA or Cloud costume on Final Fantasy Explorer 3DS since they are not related with the games they appeared as cameo ?

I banned FF VII R for explicit swearing words i found from the trailer.
I banned FF VII because i banned FF VII R too. Same case.
I banned FF XV for Rated Adult contents DLC.

@Anti-Matter To be honest, I’m more interested in my own gaming choices than someone else’s severe dislike of a game.
Just play what you wanna play, yo.

@Tyranexx I did have the issue with the OG 3DS too. But mine was Red and I feel like the glossy red didn't show the dirt like the glossy black.

@ThanosReXXX Ah yeah, no damage, just dirt. And yeah, everything get's dirty. Glossy or matte. But some things show it much more easily...

@Anti-Matter Honestly Anti I don't understand why you're so... strict... with these things. In my opinion your system and rules make absolutely no sense to me. But they don't have to make sense to me. It's your system, play games the way you want to. Just understand that everyone else has that same freedom of choice, too.

@Anti-Matter Yeah, I have to agree with @HobbitGamer and @Heavyarms55. Play what you want to play, but don't ask us, because we will simply never understand why you put so much pressure and restriction on what should just be an enjoyable hobby. And remember: you have now also tried other games, such as the Ratchet & Clank series, meaning that perhaps you shouldn't be so suffocatingly restrictive in your gaming choices.

If certain games make you feel aggressive or whatever, then the problem lies within you, NOT within those games. First person shooters do not create high school mass murderers. Those people were already insane idiots before they ever laid hands on a game controller in the first place...

@Heavyarms55 True, but I'd rather SEE the dirt, because that's a better reminder to keep it clean, whereas all the more matte and/or grippy surfaces are dirt-hiders, which makes it easier for dirt to build up unseen, so by the time you actually DO see it, like with the so aptly named "hand cheeseTM" (copyright @Tyranexx), then it's already WAY past the time when you actually should have cleaned it...

@Anti-Matter You're allowed to not like types of games I never buy turn based games (except mario+rabbids, I loved that one). There are a couple games I disliked so much that I don't keep them with the rest of my games. So, I can relate to disliking games so much, you want to keep them somewhere out of sight. I only keep games I like in my game card case.

I loved Dragon Quest Builders 1. But for some reason, with Dragon Quest Builders 2, I really disliked the opening setting on that ship. I disliked it so much that I had zero interest in playing further. So, I don't keep DQB2 with my games. It's funny because I liked DQB1 so much. Maybe I'll come back around to DBQ2. We'll see. I've noticed my taste in games has changes some years.

I got far in Wolfenstein II, but it's so grim near the end that I can't relax and have fun with it. You're allowed to not like violence, gore, and foul language. If that isn't relaxing & fun for you, that's ok. It happens.

@WoomyNNYes This goes FAR beyond that. It's not that he doesn't like "types" of games, he even restricts himself from types of games that he DOES like, simply because they contain a certain element that disturbs him, such as the ones he mentioned. So, it's more about content than type. And in the real world, that's almost an impossible quest, at least for most of us, because we as regular adults, don't feel like restricting ourselves to mainly playing games that are actually meant to be played by toddlers and little children...

Thank you guys for your opinion. 🙂
I have loosen a bit my restriction for some games.

Oh, for @ThanosReXXX , thank you for your quick review about Ratchet & Clank last time. ☺
I have played Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers 3DS with Gunslinger Amiimals and Post Apocalypse theme + Metroid Prime Federation Force 3DS as the only 1st person shooter game i allowed before i digging in Ratchet & Clank games.
Btw, i still have tendency to use Melee attack for Ratchet games when i run out of ammo as i have ever played Kingdom Hearts where i controlled Sora with his Keyblade. 😅

@Anti-Matter You're welcome. Just enjoy the games, and don't worry to much about a single small thing possibly ruining the experience. Your gaming life will be so much more rich because of it.

@Anti-Matter Honestly, just enjoy the games you like to enjoy. If you don't like certain content, that's fine. There's nothing wrong with enjoying games you like, and staying away from content you don't like. What you play is entirely up to you.

Personally, while I do play some M-rated games, I love a lot of games that are, for lack of a better phrase, family friendly and cute (a few cute games I love include the Neo-Geo classic Twinkle Star Sprites, as well as Gurumin). I think it's pretty neat to see someone like yourself enjoying those games you love no matter what anyone says.

Hope everyone is well. I picked back up on my basement project after not doing much last week, and I’ve been giving it my all for a couple of days now.

@Tyranexx - I have two new Zoom stories I’ve heard in the last few days for you. One is that my friend’s 11 year old daughter had her Girl Scout Zoom meeting bombed with porn and swastikas by an awful troll. There was screaming and hysteria. The other is that my friend gave his dad a code to join a family Zoom meeting, but he entered it incorrectly and actually joined another family’s Zoom party and had an incredibly awkward interaction with them for about 20 seconds. It got weird quick on Zoom. Hopefully your work meetings remain uninterrupted.

@NintendoByNature - I got tricked into buying a couple of the AtGames devices early on, and I’ve been leery of Sega emulation since. I didn’t buy the collection based on the review on NL. I’ve seen it on sale a couple times, but never bit. What do you think of it? I always assumed I’d skip it and spend $20-25 on Ages titles over time, but I still haven’t purchased one.

@HobbitGamer - I told them the star wand was from you, and since then, my daughter has become obsessed with it to change outfits on the fly. She was waiting for just the right item to send you, and somehow it was tissues. She knew it as soon as she saw it.

@bimmy-lee yea well see i really havent had a chance to play just yet. I played a couple seconds of sor3, but That's about it. I think hobbit played more than i did though. I checked NL before buying and they gave it an 8. I remember reading the review back when it dropped, and I had intentions of picking it up but just didn't until now..

I got burned too, on those. I have 1 in my closet, hasn't been touched in at least 4 years. But i figured, I have it all on switch just in case. And I kind of want to try the phantasy star games and get a good amount of golden axe and SoR In.

@NintendoByNature - I thought it scored a bit lower and had some remarks about gameplay quality. Good to know, now you have me thinking. I guess my main issue is that I said I wouldn’t buy anything for a long time after AC, and then I bought Fight n Rage two weeks later on sale because I’m so weak!

@NintendoByNature @bimmy-lee I bought the collection on 360 when it first came out, so used to any issues. But I also never owned my Genesis games in the day. My cousin had a master system, but the only thing I remember playing much of was Altered Beast. Love that game

My fondest memories of Mega Drive/Genesis games are:

1. Bram Stoker's Dracula - the soundtrack is amazing. It is SO much better than the SNES version!
2. Dune: Battle for Arrakis - a full on RTS exclusive for the Mega Drive. It was awesome!
3. Zero Tolerance - Also Mega Drive Exclusive and amazing FPS game that was extremely hard in the later levels.
4. Gargoyles - average/good platformer from one of my favourite cartoon series. Also had those amazing action figures of them!

@Anti-Matter You're missing out on a bunch of great games because of some bad words. I can understand you not wanting to play game containing graphical violence, but a couple of curse words seems a little bit too much to get upset about. But it's up to you, pal. Play whatever you want. Just don't bring up your distaste for things other people might enjoy or don't mind in games all the time, we know your opinion already. Talk about things you like and focus less on the stuff you don't. Here's hoping you get to play the new Cooking Mama soon. Have a nice day!

@bimmy-lee I'm well now, but I had a bit of a scare yesterday: I ate something bad the day before, so I got a case of the runs, and because of these current times we're under, I immediately wondered if the virus had finally gotten a hold of me, regardless of me adhering to all the rules, and taking good care of myself otherwise. This morning I got up and still had a sore feeling and cramps, but I'm better now.

Zoom sounds like a potential nightmare, from what you've now told us. Glad I've never used it. I'll just stick to WhatsApp video conferencing.

As for the Sega collection: it is true that earlier reviews were only ever cautiously optimistic, but the bundle has since been patched, so it works a lot better now, both vision and sound-wise.

And I would DEFINITELY not let your experience with the AtGames systems deter you from ever getting anything Sega on the Switch, because much like with the Sega Genesis Mini, all those games have been converted by the people of porting powerhouse M2, and their work is simply second to none. As the proud owner of a Sega Genesis Mini, I can definitely attest to that.

As for not buying any more games: more of us have that problem. I've bought four games from the eShop yesterday, thanks to all the discounts. Sega's Virtua Racing among them, and it's simply a brilliant conversion.

Saw Trolls World Tour, and loved it more than the first movie. It still feels unusual renting a newly released movie from home (the movie even stopped advertising theaters in promo stuff). Saw it twice already. Anyone else taken advantage of watching a theatrical movie at home as they're now being officially released this way?

Pleased to hear you liked the film. No offense to you or anyone else intended when I share this, but only yesterday my other half told me some friends of ours rented the same film digitally, for about £16 I think. I replied that I thought it was a mugs' game paying that much for a flipping rental to sit and watch in your own home. I wouldn't pay that much to own it!

But this comes from someone who won't pay more than £10 for a digital video game either.

But I just think paying that much for a rental is just bending over for a shafting.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

@gcunit No offense taken, I've seen some complain about the price. It's actually why I haven't watched the Sonic movie again. Already saw it in a theater with a friend and enjoyed it. Just going to wait for the Blu-Ray/DVD release to see it again.

I was anticipating Trolls World Tour for some time being someone who likes the first, so ended up renting it to see it as theaters are pretty much closed. Originally, I was going to see it with a friend.

Yeah, I wouldn't pay that much for any film, either.... If others think it's worth it, that's obviously OK, though
