Topic: Sonic Boom just Might save Cartoon Network

Technically, it does.
Considering that Stuart Snyder would scrap any part on CN for money (and his own beliefs [i.e. Kids don't like anime, reality shows perfect, DWWH was a smash-hit]) despite the success of shows like Regular Show, Adventure Time, Steven Universe & Uncle Grandpa which can appeal to various groups and demographics. More successful shows could save CN from switching to AS with even more Family Guy/King of the Hill at 7PM in the near future.

I personally really like Regular Show, Steven Universe & Uncle Grandpa a lot and I really think that Sonic Boom could add to CN (with Clarence coming soon) because Adventure Time has kinda dropped in quality recently and I'd rather not watch Spongebob or Family Guy at night on weekdays.

Sonic Boom is only going to "save" CN as much as Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures has "saved" Disney XD.

I don't really think the channel needs saving as much as it needs more diversity. It seems that the channel has blocked into

Adult Swim does its awesome thing alongside toonami.
A influx into the pusedo tumblr bait cartoons.

I'd just expand my arsenal focusing on more DC stuff and more revivals of old IP. The biggest problem they have is they're partnered up with a crappy toy maker so when they do have good action shows (Symbiotic Titan, Thunder Cats, Green Lantern, Young Justice) its cancelled despite good ratings because its not as cheap as the comdey shows and they half assed any attempt at a toy line. 4

When a show starring Batman fails you know its something wrong with the leadership. Its so werid how hostile CN is with DC content wheras diseny is running away with sub par marvel shows using synergy.

I really can't comment on modern CN, since I stopped watching it during the days of Non-cartoon programming being added, Flapjack, Camp Lazlo, Total Drama Island, and abandoning action (especially anime), where I just couldn't bear it anymore (my viewership had been declining even before then).

From what I have seen of their newer shows (and I've only seen these few once or twice):

Teen Titans Go - Utter garbage that's an insult to the original series.

The Looney Toons Show - This one is actually pretty decent (not a fan of them giving Road Runner the CGI treatment, but everything else is fine).

MAD - This is like a more kid friendly Robot Chicken. I approve.

I do watch AS pretty regularly, though. The Toonami revival is obviously the highlight of AS (the best thing they've ever done), but I'm also a fan of Robot Chicken, Venture Bros., Rick & Morty, Boondocks, and KotH reruns (don't mind Family Guy or American Dad! either, but I'm a bit burnt out).

Not a fan of the other AS programs though, especially their live action stuff.

Why does everbody say this like TTG is a new thing?

There are some other series's that could help ratings improve. And....I thought Toonami was on the CW....

I'm going to point out a few things here.
-AS OF THIS YEAR, STUART SNYDER HAS RESIGNED FROM HIS POSITION AT CARTOON NETWORK. This can be be good or bad depending on who replaces him.
-Boomerang will be reformatted later this year. Into what exactly is currently unknown.
-Lots of interesting new shows were announced for this year. Surprisingly, NO LIVE ACTION PROGRAMMING WAS ANNOUNCED.

With this in mind, let me now list CN's current problems:
1. Adult Swim's takeover of prime-time, which is only being used for reruns of Fox's animated sitcoms.
2. Shows that suffer from what I call the Scooby Doo Effect. This refers to shows that have long outstayed their welcome (i.e. Johnny Test)
3. A sever lack of serious action programming. There are some decent action shows, but for the most part they're more comedy than action.

In the case of Sonic Boom, it's said that the plots will pretty much be standalone, meaning there likely won't be any overarching story plots. It'll probably be decent, but hardly something that will "save" this network.

Oh, and NintendoXtreme1: Saban bought that block after 4Kids filed for bankruptcy. It's called Vortexx now.

Cartoon Network's not as bad now as it was in 2009 (CN's worst year)

OMG you're hilarious love how you think CN is in trouble and needs to be saved just because you don't like it. I don't like their programming either but I can admit that while I don't like Adventure time it has a huge fanbase, and so do other shows like Regular Show and Steven Universe.
Also if history is anything to go by Sonic shows don't really have a history of saving any television network so you're jumping the gun there a bit aren't you?

If it wasn't a day early this would be a strong contender for the best April fools day thread, oh well

I just like to believe. I only watch classic CN and the reason sonic boom might save it is because I know there are so many huge sonic fans that want something else besides Sonic X
