Topic: People. Take a chill pill.

This site has kind of sucked the past few days. We've got people complaining about people liking iPhone games and we've got people complaining about those people complaining about them liking iPhone games. We've got people complaining about Link not being a female and people complaining about those people complaining about Link not being a female, and the same situation for Luigi not being Princess Peach. We've got people comparing this place to IGN. We've got people starting to get personal and being donkeyholes. (so the second-to-last people has a point?)

Basically there's a growing atmosphere of dissension among the people.

This is kind of sad considering that video games are supposed to be a form of entertainment. I feel like broad topics about larger issues like sexism and racism are — past a certain point — misplaced here. I think it's sad that people can't deal with other people enjoying or talking about enjoying games on other systems, or feel like they have to prove their undying loyalty to Nintendo/Apple/etc. by making condescending comments about other people.

Anyway, I'm not really sure why I wrote this up. I guess I felt like I needed to say something. So there. People.

I find it absolutely hilarious how so many people on this site think IGN is the underworld of the gaming universe.

On a serious note though, the amount of [Company] said bad thing about Nintendo/Nintendo is better than [Company] news articles are frighting. All it leads to is the so called Nintendo fans bashing everything that Nintendo is being attacked by/attacking.

It's not pleasant to be on the site, and yes you can ignore it all but when that's a large majority of what's going on around here it's a little hard.

I'm all up for discussions and debates, but I do feel there should be a line in the sand when it comes to the issues that as pix said, create dissension.

You're definitely right. There's nothing wrong with expressing your thoughts and opinions, But there's a difference between voicing your opinions and arguing. Just PK Freeze and chill out. :/

Well writen! Discussions about sexism and racism in video games are interesting and important conversations yes, but arguing that well known charcters should have a sex/skin change isn't the way to talk about it.

I can see this thread turning into some sort of argument about something too.

I do agree though.
It doesn't bother me too much because lately I've been spending too much time playing games and doing other things to really bother reading the forums that much, but it'd definitely be a lot nicer around here without all the pointless arguing all the time.
Unfortunately, I don't see it changing.

Yeah, I started to notice this months ago and that's why I left for a solid 3 months. Everyone is becoming so emotional and getting so personal that every thread is starting to become a war zone of some sort. It would be nice to see more people excited about the Wii U Legend of Zelda rather than argue whether or not Nintendo should add a female character option.

Maybe that is what we need. Something to get really excited and make everyone talk about it. Hell, the Wii U is coming out sone, can't we talk about that? B/W2? The upcoming eShop games?

This is why I stay away from the threads, but if the fight comes towards me...prepare to come face to face with my zombie minions!...can't find a certain scene from a movie but you guys enjoy this clip

SEGA was better than all at some stage

I don't think the users have changed at all regarding opinions on you know like stuff n that, whatever... I think the main problem is people taking others/devices way too seriously I mean alot of you must have never gone through the whole SEGA vs Ninty war in the 90's before. It's exactly the same with this gen consoles as it was back then.
