Duck Hunt and Dr. Mario ruined the NES for me...still don't like the system to this day because of those games. Getting kicked off the NES by my mom so she could play Knight Rider.

Darkman on the NES. ...Just...Just FML.

Playing Street Fighter II (original and new challengers) so much that I broke the L button on my SNES controller.

The absolute disappointment and buyer's remorse of playing Daikatana for the first time. Seriously...that game sucks. And I bought it at a flea market for 60 bucks...such a rip off.

The homemade scavenger hunt my mom made for me to find my IOU for my N64 (which I cashed in at Christmas)

Playing pokemon red under the bedcovers with a flashlight.

The awe of seeing Mario 64 for the first time.

Playing through Sailor Moon Another story with a dictionary, dial up internet and a lot of free time.

My best memories are in the arcade. Playing samsho II for the first time (and discovering the glory that is the NEO-GEO), playing Street Fighter II for the first time. Playing X-men, the Simpsons and Spiderman with a stepstool. And Virtua Fighter 2. That game was the holy grail for me.

Splatoon - Reaching S+ rank. Probably one of my favorite gaming moments ever. A lot of practicing (and luck) finally paid off!

Sonic Riders - Riders was my first Sonic game, so it brings back a lot of nice memories.

Sonic Unleashed - Just the intro itself... Loved it! (except for the part when Sonic was in the trap ). Didn't even start playing the game yet, and I already knew I was going to love it. XD And I was right, it's still my favorite game today. Probably my favorite game cutscene ever - it's so well done!

Super Mario Sunshine - Finally completing Gelato Beach: Episode 8. It sure took a while...

And just various Mario Kart moments. Dodging blue shells, barely winning, etc.

Here are some of my most memorable gaming moments:

  • LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy - After playing that game for what seemed like hundreds of hours, I'd finally done it; I had enough studs to buy to the final character, Yoda (Ghost). It was one of my proudest moments as a child.
  • Pokémon Soul Silver - I still consider this to be the greatest Pokémon game made to date, and since I had never gone to Mount Silver in the original, I had no idea what to expect at the top of it in the remake. Reaching the top and finding Red there had to be one of the most amazing moments I had ever experienced in a Pokémon game.
  • Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure - This is one of my favourite memories of a Christmas present that I can remember. I must have been about 12 when I got this game, which I wanted for two reason, one being that it had Spyro, one of my all time favourite video game characters in it, and two being that they were toys that worked in video games. As a kid, that was mind blowing. I still fondly remember opening the box to that game, getting the figures out and admiring them for a short while, before turning the game on and placing Spyro on the Portal of Power for the first time, before quickly changing to another character to see how amazing the ability to switch between characters was.

Toys-to-life is life.

I'm gonna leave out certain games I've played and/or seen so much the whole game is memorable to me (and to not be the 1 billionth person to remind you of how dark and emotional Majora's Mask can be for example). And also "memorable" is so vague for me that I could go forever so...

-Beyond the more beloved and tragic scenes in Mother 3, the end of chapter 3 is so awesome. The story scenes in that game are so great just for the strong animation alone.

-Beating Prime 2 on Hard mode without 100% items. Still think it's the most impressive thing I've done in a game.

-Beating Super Mario Bros DX at a restaurant. Random memory, but I distinctly remember this.

-Staying up until way past when I should have in order to finish the final case of Ace Attorney Investigations

-Beating Mysterio in Spiderman 2

-Utterly failing at the first level of Super Mario 64 once I finally had a copy to myself

-Beating the boss rush in Shovel Knight on hard mode

-Whenever I find an awesome, beloved, older title unexpectedly at an arcade. Especially the TMNT games

-My co-op, all in one day playthroughs of Rayman Origins and later Rayman Legends

-the moment Rob Zombie suddenly appeared in Jet Set Radio

Adding some more
-Between my failing first capture card forcing me to record the same segment of Metroid Prime like 5+ times before I gave up (going from the Boost Ball segment to the first trip to the Artifact Temple, in case you're wondering), or the slowdown nightmares and bs that happened with both Paper Mario and Megaman 64 and my laptop, I will certainly never forget those! Like a year and half of many frustrations and crappy tech.

-I beat both Mario and Luigi and Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced when I was supposed to be sleeping when I was a teen.

-Leaving the N64 on for the night when I couldn't find a save point in chapter 7 of Paper Mario (I almost think I might've just forgotten to shut it off and was surprised when I was still on but I don't remember)
-Basically any games I played immediately when I got them as Christmas gifts (especially in the early 2000s, especially the GCN launch)

-Destroying literally everything possible in the first area of Red Faction: Guerrilla

-Not sure if it counts, but me and my brother had several of our Pokemon game datas ruined by his friend playing new file for a bit and inexplicably always saving when he's not supposed to
