You know, I've avoided reading this topic for a long time because I was afraid everyone would turn out to be 15 - 20 or so and I'd feel like a big old good-for-nothing failure.

Now I see that I'm right in the average age group!

I'm 28. First console was the Atari 2600, and, yes, I owned ET. And, yes, I knew even then, with so little to compare it with, that it was a really bad game.

I was a huge Nintendo fanboy until the end of the N64 era, when I sort of lost interest. I bought a Game Cube at some point and with the exception of Pikmin and Wind Waker, was not very impressed at all.

In fact, I held off on buying a Wii for a very long time. I forget what changed my mind, specifically...but I honestly think it was the appeal of the Virtual Console that tipped me into the "interested" category. How happy I am, then, that so many Wii games are as good as or better than the ones that made me fall in love with gaming in the first place.

21. I've been playing games since I could talk and walk. My first system was the Sega Master System (rare for a kid from the US)... Followed by an NES. A Genesis. A Saturn. An N64. A Dreamcast. And (unfortunately) an XBox (X1). I was the SegaBoy of the 90's... When SEGA died, I heard alll of their hardware devs were going to MS, so I bought the XBOX. It served me well, but broke right when Halo 2 launched. It was the first system I'd ever had that broke, I refused to buy another MS system ever again.

This. I can't word it any better than this. This is why I got mine.

12,even though iam young I like the virtual console beter than most new consolses because I love N64 games! I do wish I could have lived in the N64 era though. And I am getting a point card today just for majora's mask.

This is why I'm so glad Nintendo has launched the VC in the first place. Not for the "old" gamers looking for nostalgia... But for new gamers looking to find the true classics. Majora's Mask is amazing kid, and even I had to download it! Because back in the day, I was too busy with my new Dreamcast to spend money on an expansion pack when this game hit in 2000.

23, beat NES Dragon Warrior when I was...jeez 5 or something I think. First official game was Miner 2049er for Atari 400 (2 or 3), followed closely by Gorillas (anyone with even a slight background in Q-Basic programming knows exactly what I'm talking about )....aaah, my gaming infancy!

@Sean and Stickin' Boot-tricks (and to a lesser extent Chatham ) - good to know i'm not alone. I hate feeling like the only person older than 16 still enjoying a Nintendo console for things other than beerpong simulators and virtual birthday parties.

I turned 27 yesterday and still feeling pretty young lol. When I was around 3-4 my dad always took me to my uncles to play multiplayer KABOOM on Atari 2600. Years later we got the NES Bundle with light gun and power pad. Hooked since I was a child literally. I migrated to Sega Genesis before SNES, then PsOne. Then back to N64. Picked up a Gamecube onsale bundled with DoubleDash but never really cared too much for the system with the exception of 1080 and Waverace updates. Love the Playstation and picked up PS2 right after release and XBOX not long after. Bought a Wii on launch day and sold back Gamecube and XBOX because they were never played and later sold Wii for PS3. Im a huge portable gamer Ive owned ALL Nintendo portables and the DS/DSi is in my opinion one of the greatest systems ever. I currently play most just DS and PS3 and abondoned Microsoft completely gamining wise. Also owned Atari 2600, Atari 5200, SegaCD, GameGear, SNES, most of the vintage systems got chunked out by my mom when romodeling their home when I prob 13. It literally brought me to tears.

I'm sorry, but I beat you all.
I'm 68, and I've been "gaming" since 1993.
My favourite one is called "Nuclear test." You guys heard of that? I'm thinking of playing "Invade the South" soon.

Its good to see that there are younger people on here who still appreciate the older games that I grew up with!
