Hardly ever nowadays...

@Bleh: It varies from seller to seller, but overall it's pretty reliable. I've bought quite a few things from eBay—video games included—and I've only had one seller rip me off (it was only about $15, though, and that was back when I was first starting out and still browsed items from sellers whose ratings weren't basically impeccable). So, basically just use common sense and check a seller's rating and customer satisfaction score and you should be fine...

When I sell games (which isn't too often) I use it. I also use it to pick up retro games you wouldn't be able to find used in stores anymore. Other than that, I don't really use it that much.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

Can't avoid linking to the famous Judge Judy vs. ebay scammer clip.

Gotta be sure to read carefully. Supposedly somebody once paid $500 for an X-Box box. Though I only saw it happen on the 360, scammer buried the notice within a wall of text pasted from a Microsoft press release.

I've never actually used any of those auction sites although I sometimes like to look around for some games.
