@ Everyone The whole point of a forum is to let people share their opinion. Not caring about caring about grammar is their opinion. They have as much of a right to not care about caring about grammar as we have to right to care about caring about grammar.
True. But when people who care about grammar express their opinion (and are right) they get told to "not get their panties in a twist" "chill" or "you're a $#$)(&" - that last one was deleted, though.
Apparently it's OK to be wrong, though.
@Waltzelf some people don't have English as their native language, so it's not fair to ask for perfect grammar from everybody. Bad grammar is ok in chats, because you want to say something fast. On forums, you have all the time you want, so why not make what you say look nice?
Well, as I said earlier, I find it completely OK for a non-native speaker to make grammatical errors. It's to be expected. But I find overall, those non-English speakers who are confident enough with English to visit an English website typically have far, far better English than the Americans, English and Australians.
They're easy to pick, too. The grammatical errors that non-native speakers are usually very different to the grammatical errors that native speakers make.

That is certainly fine, but the most quoted post was definitely overreacting, as has been pointed out multiple times already.

Saying "better" instead of "more". How can you like something better? How can your ability to like something improve? If you're saying you like one thing more than another, just say "I like it more"!
@Ilikevideogames I lied when I said I wasn't going to say anything more. I have 1 more thing to say. There's a difference between saying "I hate IGN! They are stupid, biased, and horrible", and saying, "I don't like it when people use incorrect grammar, so I'm going to post some common grammatical errors." I was expecting someone to make that comparison, but it's not just a hate thread. It's even helpful in a way!
Just let it happen.

jeez, everyone just calm the crap down. This thread isn't about bashing people who don't care about grammar, and if you don't care about grammar, then don't post on a thread about grammar...man, I must be a genius for coming up with such an idea.
This. I'm predicting a :3 to appear pretty soon.
Just let it happen.

Grammar is certainly worth taking very seriously when you submit a job application (not that this should come as a surprise to anyone).
We're in the process of hiring someone for a purely technical programming position in my office, and I have veto power over any applicant due to how closely I'll need them to work with me. I've immediately discarded every resume containing significant grammar or spelling mistakes (in either the cover letter or resume itself), with absolutely no regard for the technical skills or experience that might also be contained therein. I know that others will do the same. Be forewarned. Being in a technical profession is still no excuse for bad communication skills.
