I have such nostalgia for this game's number. Pandemonium! was such a great game; I've never once beaten it, even when I was little.

It's kind of odd hearing a gospel song while racing yarn creatures in the desert. It's still a great song, though. TESTIFY KIRBY!
Dusk Dunes - Kirby's Epic Yarn

Speaking of the desert, this music is always a treat to listen to. Just don't let it distract you from getting Peach safely through the area.
Teehee Valley- Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga

This song always makes me feel like I've accomplished something great whenever I hear it. Perfect song to get a Party Star award to.

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald have the best soundtracks in VG history:
Route 110:

Mt. Pyre Peak (Probably the best in the whole game):

Pretty intense piece, and one of my favorites from the game.

In recognition of Bionic Commando Rearmed 2's release... Some of the best NES music ever from the original Bionic Commando. Capcom has just had some of the greatest vg music composers ever (Junko Tamiya here)!

Lemmings 2 Cave (Amiga):
[youtube:zt295Wcd-Zs]

Lemmings 2 Classic (Amiga; really a medley of themes from the first Lemmings):
[youtube:5UutqJeAYik]

Lotus III (Amiga; the best racing game that isn't a Mario Kart ever!):
[youtube:_og9BLNVWYk]

Monty on the Run (this one is epic, so do listen all the way to the end, because it's not your standard 8-bit looping track):
[youtube:93nIljXpqUY]

"Ocean Loader", not a game, but the music that played to keep you entertained while the game loaded! You kids have it so easy nowadays:
[youtube:92CRWLx_zBg]

The Secret of Monkey Island main theme:
[youtube:WjvD3C_nvBk]

The entirety of Shadow of the Colossus (really, it's a stunning soundtrack, perhaps the best ever) but here are two favourites:
[youtube:R3PRXFLJYcw]
[youtube:tY4QF8S5m_0]

Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System) Bridge Zone:
[youtube:4-YoQdu7ScI]

Sonic 2 (Mega Drive) Emerald Hill Zone:
[youtube:6vaBxXCH9b8]

Sonic 2 (Mega Drive) Chemical Plant Zone:
[youtube:-LYB7iLZNWE]

Pretty much anything from Streets of Rage 2, but how about this, er, "shamenistic" tune:
[youtube:GO14WFh1k-I]

Super Mario Galaxy Egg Planet:
[youtube:KRQkqITQ2cU]

Super Mario Galaxy Floater Land (Buoy Base):
[youtube:fE0Thp3wjXU]

Timesplitters Future Perfect Zeppelin stage (PS2; also check out "Venice" and "Disco-a-Go-Go"):
[youtube:utwu9KgYZNU]

Turrican (C64) jetpack stage 2:
[youtube:1DojlCRfmBQ]

A lot of these classics have been given a bit of modern polish over at OCRemix, so it's well worth having a look over there for your favourites.

EDIT: Oh, the shame! How could I have forgotten this:

Wow. That's an astonishing bit of music; it would be impressive now, let alone on the C64!

This is a pretty cool song from this obscure game.

This song, on the other hand, is hysterical!

@cheetahman91 Wow, that Agent X 2 song is fantastic. Goes to show just how well even old hardware can pump out great tunes.

I recently discovered the Guilty Gear X2 Korean soundtrack. Most of the tracks are even better than the Japanese originals!
