Right now I like this one:

This is too difficult. I can't pick one. Some favourites:

Baldur's Gate II title theme:
[youtube:U88zyFLzIXQ]

Cannon Fodder (Amiga):
[youtube:PiYuq6Ac3a0]

The Chaos Engine (Amiga):
[youtube:55jpHprP_ao]

Creatures stage 6:
[youtube:6EWKPhQLzUQ]

Donkey Kong Country underwater theme:
[youtube:wAPpVplHiDE]

Final Fantasy VII battle theme:
[youtube:NfPX-gg2xhk]

Golden Axe:
[youtube:XopcZ7dI8Pg]

The Great Gianna Sisters (C64):
[youtube:Ne-09Bs_bRo]

Lemmings 2 Cave (Amiga):
[youtube:zt295Wcd-Zs]

Lemmings 2 Classic (Amiga; really a medley of themes from the first Lemmings):
[youtube:5UutqJeAYik]

Lotus III (Amiga; the best racing game that isn't a Mario Kart ever!):
[youtube:_og9BLNVWYk]

Monty on the Run (this one is epic, so do listen all the way to the end, because it's not your standard 8-bit looping track):
[youtube:93nIljXpqUY]

"Ocean Loader", not a game, but the music that played to keep you entertained while the game loaded! You kids have it so easy nowadays:
[youtube:92CRWLx_zBg]

The Secret of Monkey Island main theme:
[youtube:WjvD3C_nvBk]

The entirety of Shadow of the Colossus (really, it's a stunning soundtrack, perhaps the best ever) but here are two favourites:
[youtube:R3PRXFLJYcw]
[youtube:tY4QF8S5m_0]

Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System) Bridge Zone:
[youtube:4-YoQdu7ScI]

Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System) Scrap Brain Zone:
[youtube:8ktBqTsiwiI]

Sonic 2 (Mega Drive) Emerald Hill Zone:
[youtube:6vaBxXCH9b8]

Sonic 2 (Mega Drive) Chemical Plant Zone:
[youtube:-LYB7iLZNWE]

Pretty much anything from Streets of Rage 2, but how about this, er, "shamenistic" tune:
[youtube:GO14WFh1k-I]

Super Mario Galaxy Egg Planet:
[youtube:KRQkqITQ2cU]

Super Mario Galaxy Floater Land (Buoy Base):
[youtube:fE0Thp3wjXU]

Timesplitters Future Perfect Zeppelin stage (PS2; also check out "Venice" and "Disco-a-Go-Go"):
[youtube:utwu9KgYZNU]

Turrican (C64) jetpack stage 2:
[youtube:1DojlCRfmBQ]

A lot of these classics have been given a bit of modern polish over at OCRemix, so it's well worth having a look over there for your favourites.

EDIT: Oh, the shame! How could I have forgotten this:

Wow. That's an astonishing bit of music; it would be impressive now, let alone on the C64!

@cheetahman91 Wow, that Agent X 2 song is fantastic. Goes to show just how well even old hardware can pump out great tunes.

I recently discovered the Guilty Gear X2 Korean soundtrack. Most of the tracks are even better than the Japanese originals!

@Kelvin(473) - please don't put so many videos in the same post. It strongly affects the page's loading time on some old computers and iPod Touches and iPhones.

Title- Mega Man 3
[youtube:UVsVw7Y7SSA]
Not a big fan of Mega Man music but this song is fantastic.
Title- Solstice
[youtube:ypNPxwnppU0]
Tim Follin really knows how to push sound chips to their limits.
Title- Turrican II (Amiga)
[youtube:Fvha_2hAzq0]
Even better than the first game's title music.
The Desert Rocks- Turrican II
[youtube:mVcTylLGG2w]
All of the Turrican's had great music and this is a great example.

I just beat Majora's Mask today (for only the second time, actually) so I've been listening to its soundtrack a lot. Let's see if I can remember how to embed videos.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=knLCbS02T1Y

One of the strongest pieces of music I've heard in any medium.

EDIT: Clearly I do not remember how to embed videos.

ANOTHER EDIT: Listen to this one if you're a fan of good music.
