So I just bought bayonetta 2 and 3D world and I'm enjoying 3D world but not as much as I could of if I wasn't watching videos and for bayonetta I beat it and it got boring to unlock every weapon and other things.
So I'm asking you if a game was boring/unenjoyable by watching videos
PS. I'm stopping waching videos of games I wanna play
Nah. If the game isn't story-heavy or the story is just malarkey anyway, I don't feel like anything has been spoiled. And I know better than to watch videos of games where I know I'll get invested in the story.
Watching videos of super cool gameplay is not the same as playing super cool gamplay at all.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Monster Hunter 3G, end up knowing a lot of the monsters' moves and tricks once that game made it over here. (at least Abyssal and Lucent still gave me a hard time, lol)

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@ekreig: Problem is reviews seem to need some gameplay footage of whether the game is worth it or not. Personally, if it weren't for the footages, I wouldn't be getting Kid Icarus Uprising.
Yep, definitely. Made me hold off of several games - and in hindsight, I'm mostly glad about it, but still annoyed that I'm not going to give any of the below games a shot in my life (or never again).
Deadpool, Metal Gear Rising, Axiom Verge, and Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow are examples of games I lost interest in despite looking really fun.
BlazBlue: Chronophantasma, Senran Kagura: Shinovi/Estival Versus, Fire Emblem: Fates, and Mighty No.9 are examples that kept looking increasingly awful the more I saw of them, despite being interested at first.
And Dark Souls/Bloodborne, Payday, Smash 4, and pretty much every MOBA in existence not only looked boring, but also had some of the worst communities I could've imagined for these kinds of games.
EDIT: And yes, some games I already owned/played were actually ruined for me after watching gameplay. Examples include Pokémon Y, Bayonetta 2, Disgaea 2: Dark Demon Days, Ragnarök Online 2, Shovel Knight (well, partially - I was already bored by the game, but seeing a 100% run really killed it for good), Atelier Iris 3, PERSONA 3, and Catherine. I dropped all of those games after finding out that the endings were terrible/the gameplay didn't hold up well, but I would've been pretty angry if I discovered that myself after sinking hours upon hours into these games.
The only games I watch videos on are competitive games mostly. I was trying to get into League of Legends, and I was for a little while, but watching the tournaments really killed it for me. I never want to play League again.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

No, not really. I watched a video showing at least one game's ending (I think it was for Luigi's Mansion 2, though it could have also been 3D Land or something else), yet I still loved playing the game when I finally got it.
Not really, but then again I only watch games that I know I am not going to play mostly because I just don't have time. I want to see the story but because I have so many games in my backlog already I watch LPS of some I will not get to.

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm always really careful to avoid watching too many videos on an upcoming game, especially if the story is important. I love surprises when playing games, so I try not to hear too much information before hand.
@Kaze_Memaryu: Smash in general has an awful community, not just smash 4.
Anyway, I've never had it happen to me. The closest instance would probably be New Leaf because I learned about pretty much every new feature, but I was still able to sink hundreds of hours into that game.
I really don't tend to watch Lets Plays, and when I do it'll be for games that are actually suited for it imo, which are ones where the outcome is strongly determined by who is playing it (eg. Open world sandboxes like Minecraft/Terraria) and even then its only if I really enjoy watching the person. If you're interested in a game the last thing you generally want to do is watch someone else play through it - it just ruins it.
Not really, but then again most of the games I play is not really story heavy, so watching a few gameplay videos is no harm.
In my case it's more of the opposite when I play certain anime games. For example I'm about to play Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution as soon as my Gaming PC comes later today, but I'm only up to 193 in the anime. The cover alone is a spoiler for me.
A dying animal struggles, thrashes and howls in protest as its life torn from it. To see this in action, watch Animal Planet. The same thing happens when a video game is or isn't released. To see this in action, stay here.

@Zombo They absolutely do, but the Smash 4 community brought this to my attention in the first place, since I never bothered with Smash communities before, which is why I called it in place of the rest of the series.
Like many others, watching videos only ruins the game if it's story heavy.
For that reason, I will probably never buy Heavy Rain or Beyond: Two Souls.
Alternatively, games like Minecraft, Terraria, and the Binding of Isaac don't show off everything in a single playthrough and games like Super Mario Bros., Smash Bros., and Pokemon only show one particular way of going about the stage where (in some cases) your own personal choices (Treeko, Mudkip, or Torchic) will affect the outcome or even your own mode of exploration (looking for secrets in Mario).
Then of course, there are videos that tell me to avoid games I would have otherwise purchased, but that's a different argument entirely.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
