Seriously, I can play a mean kazoo. Other than that, I don't play instruments. I'm mostly vocal.

Funny story involving a kazoo, not sure if I've told this here before:

One late night I was outside a bar in New Orleans just messing around, me on uke, a friend on a djembe, and all of us singing, when two women about our age stumble across the street, one drunker than the other. Without a word of introduction, one pulls a kazoo from out of her purse and starts going at it while the other starts improv rapping.

The fact that we had been playing a Beirut song, and that it also somehow managed to sound good, made it all the more hilarious. Very surreal and memorable moment for me, though I imagine my simple retelling of the story does it no justice.

Like Token Girl I was in my high school marching band (long before American Pie was even thought of). My instrument of choice was saxophone. I also dabble in guitar, did mandolin for a while, sing and now am trying out the pan flute.

I play the trumpet. And my voice. Does Guitar Hero count?

I've been playing viola since the fifth grade and am relearning piano right now with private lessons after starting it a few years back, not getting very far, and forgetting everything. Also, I was proficient in recorder in elementary school, lol.

I used to play the French Horn during all three years of Middle School, but once I got to High School I dropped out of band. I'd love to re-learn to play it sometime...
