Dunno if this is a thing, but I know sometimes when I listen to music, I start imagining random scenes to go with the music. These range from simple to surprisingly elaborate. Was just wondering if this happens to anyone else?
And if so, do you remember any interesting ones you'd like to share?
For example, I just listened to the song "Spaceman" by The Killers, and imagined a man getting abducted by aliens, who were going to do tests on him, only for the man to break his bonds, kick out the aliens, and steal their ship. He winds up passing a couple of interesting locals and sights (such as a one eyed monster on a mini-moon), eventually picking up an alien chick who then tries to eat him. It turns out, however, that he was just dreaming, and still on the alienship being mind-probed. So again he breaks his bonds for real, this time jumping into the escape pod, where he crash-lands on a sunny beach, falling flat on his face in front of some pretty coast guards, who, seeing that he's hurt, drag him away to get aid. The man then looks behind him (towards the "audience") and winks. Thus ends the scene (and the song ended at the same time, too).
What I liked about this daydream was less the story and more how it looked in my mind - it looked like a funky cartoon with weird and changing proportions, weird angles, and lots of funky scenes that'd be difficult to explain. Everything moved in exaggerated motions, and of course there were lots of exaggerated expressions. I'm tempted to consider drawing it someday, but I doubt still images, or even a comic, could ever do it justice - there was just something about how it all moved in mind that I liked. Kinda reminded me of some cartoon short I watched once, don't remember what it was called or what it was about, though...
Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)
Sometimes with music, sometimes without.
It happens when I'm not focusing on anything in particular, I guess my brain's not the idle type.
No idea if that's a good thing or not.
Yes, but only when I'm not doing anything else, like driving. If I suddenly started seeing movies in my head when on the highway, bad things would happen.
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
