Word. They made it too shooting-oriented with that hyper phazon corruption thingy, which felt out of place for a Metroid adventure and further widened the gap between the action and puzzles, making the game play feel incongruous throughout while removing the best part about the Metroid franchise, the concept of exploring the depths of a single planet in an open world.

Yeah, well, your moma's so fat, the doctor told her she needs to cut back on the trans fats or else she'll have serious health issues later on in life.

And she did, I've got to give her credit for that. To be honest, she's looking a lot better lately. I'm proud of her.

Where was I going with this...?

Oh yeah. MP3 was a lot of fun with the most satisfying motion controls I've experienced yet on the Wii, and they did a great job of eliminating most (admittedly not all) of the problems inherent in the first two Prime games. It successfully (if temporarily) reinvented the franchise and gave it legs for all us gamers who don't particularly like the 2D games, with all that running side to side through endless, similar corridors, shooting a whopping three kinds of enemies, and bombing every single brick in the room to see if maybe--just maybe!--there's a missile expansion inside.

I am stunned and without a comeback. This round goes to you, Brutus, but you have not knocked off my crown just yet.

The motion controls were okay, but they weren't put to good use. The shooting action was rather mindless, and felt very out of place for Metroid which was never supposed to be so twitchy. Also, I'm curious, what inherent problems were in the first two? I think the general consensus is that the original Prime is the best, and it's certainly my favorite of the three.

Oh no, now them's fighting words! Hunters rocked my socks... at least until everyone online started alt-spamming. It was an absolute blast with friends who didn't play cheap and boring like that though. At the very least, it gets points for having other playable characters, a feature I'd have loved to see in Prime 3 (or in a Prime 4, if that were in the cards in an alternate dimension).

Wait, so you're bitching about Prime 3 being too much like an FPS and not a Metroid adventure, yet your favourite is Hunters? I think you just pwned yourself!

Wait I`m confuzzled? Isn`t this topic on how Adam hates MP3 when people are saying your mom jokes and talking street!?

Well Metroid Prime 3 is the best in the Trilogy in so many ways such as other than the obvious graphics and controls but the intense boss battles, new monsters to demolish, Corruption mode, and genius puzzle solving make this superior to it`s predecessors`.

Except Hunters isn't an adventure (well, there is an adventure mode, but it isn't the main course by any means). The 1P game is actually pretty similar to Metroid Prime 1 in game play style, and I found it enjoyable. The multiplayer mode is necessarily different in its focus, and it's a lot of fun, but I wouldn't want a single-player Metroid game like that because single-player Metroid is about exploration and mood.

Also, I really, really wish people in this forum would stop abusing the terms "whine" and its stronger, more offensive synonym when they don't know what they are talking about. When did "discuss" become outmoded? I have never gotten emotional about my criticisms of MP3. I think it's a bad game. Whoopty doo. I think a lot of games are bad, but I'm not crying about it.

Heh, some of your reasons for liking it are my reasons for not liking it. To each his own! :)
I found Corruption mode to be unexciting, and Retro's trend of putting more and more puzzles into Metroid makes me happy that the Prime series is over. It always felt weird and out of place for Metroid. Why do Space Pirates make morph-ball sized passages for all their top secret stuff? :D
The old Metroid games, and even the first two Prime games to a lesser extent, had such fantastic mood, but the puzzles really interrupt that, which puts me off.

Why do people feel the need to label any and all negative criticism as "whining" or worse?

It's called emotive language I believe. Basically I could say discuss, but that makes you seem like a perfectly intelligent human being. By saying that you're bitching and whining about something, it makes you look irrational, even though the words are interchangeable. If my English teacher is to be believed, it helps get a point across.
