How can beat "free" out of him? Besides which, if he could've broken through that wall no problem if not for WANTING to break bones like he says, he would totally kick my butt, and I'm not interested in that eventuality, thank you very much!
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
We need a topic on this forum dedicated to grudge matches or general fights between two users instead of a topic dedicated to just one fight. That would be epic.
Hey, Brutus! Adam thinks you look like a person who is overweight.
Them's fightin' words! The smartest course of action on my part is probably to sneak up on Adam and punch him in the back of the head, without first confirming that he actually said anything like this.
No, I can't take his harsh words anymore, nor can my mother. I concede defeat... at least until Other M comes out and proves Metroid's real potential for 3D.
I'm not sure what you mean by that, but if you're one of the few who don't think so much action is appropriate to a Metroid game, I suggest playing the original Metroid again.
Obviously, one thing you can't show in a trailer is the sense of exploration, but since Project M is made up of Team Ninja AND Nintendo's Metroid team, I'm confident we won't be missing that vital aspect of the series. It certainly can't be worse (in that regard) than Corruption.
We'll probably get a lot more story than Metroid is used to, but I think the Fusion team did a lot better job with this than Retro, so I don't necessarily mind.
I (and others) got a really strong Super Metroid vibe from the action segments. I love how colorful it is.
I remember reading one of your earlier posts where you said it was "too shooter-oriented". I suppose you meant "first person shooter oriented", since the trailer is very 2D shooter-oriented. I hear you though, it'd be hard to make an exciting trailer for exploration.
One thing I hope Other M fixes is the horrible amount of climbing in Super Metroid. It bored me to no end to keep jumping up, and up, and up, and fall, and up, and up, and up... At least the Prime series fixed this problem.
Yea, first-person shooting is just not as exciting, at least not for this type of game. When you can see your character and see enemies all around you rather than just in front of you, it allows for more intense action where dodging is just as important as shooting.
However, that comment I made more specifically meant that there was much more emphasis on shooting than exploration. Balance between the two should be key for a Metroid game if the game is to stay true to the roots of the original trilogy.
I don't really agree about the climbing though. Prime had its share of climbing, and climbing took much, much longer since you couldn't see where your feet were (hooray for the genius idea to use first-person in an adventure game).
2D games tend to have much quicker movement, too, so even if the climbing wasn't very, very easy in Super Metroid (at least I thought so), reclimbing doesn't take that long.
