I've watched a bunch of his videos during the past couple weeks or so. He is hilarious. Though no one's better at making fun of crappy old stuff like the AVGN.
i honestly find him even more hilarious than the avgn. his videos just exceed those of the nerd in Quality and duration, which is a pretty good thing. Btw i do not think he ripps off the AVGN. angry-old school critics are on the web like fish are in the sea. It's his unique style that makes the NC stand out for me =)
Thatguywiththeglasses is a great site, it has a lot more than just the nostalgia critic though the same guy also does ask that guy and bum reviews where he plays completely different characters, also if its good game type stuff you want check out Benzaie from the same site:
I originally thought The Nostalgia Critic was just a rip-off from AVGN. TNC's voice grated at first with his opening line, that was enough to turn me off as well as his smarmy smug posture and attitude.
But I've really gotten into TNC. His videos really are hilarious even if you never watched or even heard of the movie he's reviewing before. I've been going through his list watching several of his reviews at a time lately.
Reviews I definitely recommend watching are Suburban Commando, Cool As Ice, Blank Check, Captain America, Sidekicks, Steel, Howard the Duck, Kazaam and North.
I only turned off two reviews because I got bored or turned off - Full House and Moonwalker.
The best review in my opinion is Batman & Robin. Watch the Nostalgia Critics's ending parody of "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". You will laugh your ass off!
I also find the Nostalgia Critics to be much more halirious then the Angry Video Game Nerd. The AVGN is just entertaining for the most part.
Once I got over being offended at the AVGN's review of Simon's Quest and the 32x; I found I really enjoy his stuff. In fact I think my favorite episodes are on the Batman games, Super Pitfall, and the Zelda CDi games. Such classic stuff

Personally I'd like someone to just take a game and then calmly, methodically and sarcastically mock the living crap out of the game in question.

The bolded sentence does accurately describe the NC's reviewing style (replace "game" with "movie/TV show"), but he does have the occasional profane outburst (see: Kazaam).
He ripped of AVGN. And it's Nostalgia Critic, not Critics.
He didnt. Doing entertaining video reviews about one media (nerd: old games, critic: kinda old movies) does not mean you copied some ones idea. The Critic has its very own style and even cooperated with the Nerd in some videos.
If some one seriously ripped off and copied AVGN is was the (in my eyes boring) Irate Gamer on youtube.

Nostalgia Critic is hilarious, as is AVGN. I don't know why people think Nostalgia Critic ripped of AVGN to be honest, their styles are quite different. Plus there both good friends and have done a few videos together.
AVGN and The Nostalgia Critic are both cool, but I fail to understand how some people can say one ripped off the other. For a start AVGN reviews Computer Games and Nostalgia Critic reviews Movies, also they have never reviewed the same piece of Media or used any of the same Jokes or Lines, sure they have a similar style but that does not mean that one has copied from the other. They are both good, what is it with people who feel the need to have allegiance to one and insult the other, it reminds me of the Console fanboys.
@SSBF1999 after i read this thread i watched a few hours of this guy before bed. at first i thought he was an unfunny prick and AVGN jack artist. but he really started to grow on me and once i saw that he was in fact down with AVGN i was stoked. thanks for the lead, now i have yet anther way to waste time on the internet.
