Why is the DSi so much better then a normal ds lite?

Cringing is really fun.

CrazyOtto

What irken said, plus voice recording, the fact that it has 2 cameras and not just 1, and bigger screens.

DS Lite may have GBA, but you can't do GBA multiplayer with a DS Lite.

DSi + GBA SP = Perfect combo

until there's a truly must-have DSi-only/DSiWare title, i can't say that it is better IMO.

It really is better for my personal opinion, but if DS games and DS games only are your thoughts, by all means save the 40$ and get a DS lite. I, for one, like the feel of the matte finish and the whole console itself seems a bit more grown up and "professional", for lack of a better word - the DS lite, in my hands, never fit well and honestly felt cheap for $130. You have the bigger screens which DO make a difference (it's like a tv that's only 5 inches bigger; don't seem too much, but it makes the world) and the better speakers (though not that noticeably different from the DS lite). The addition of the cameras are fun, but I never saw the whole beauty of the whole thing until just recently: it's completely personal. Sure, you can send photos and stuff but I like to take a zany picture of myself, turn it to black and white, and make smiley faces all over me for what could be an hour or two of total fun. Don't get me started on the revamped system menu because God forbid the awful old DS menu continued on in 2009, people. DSiWare, while right now is something of a joke beside from some solid, fun titles, shows great potential and (for me, who's spent about $50 on a bunch of DSiWare) it's paid off so far, so I can't wait to see what develops.

That's my.. somewhat biased look on the DSi, and if you need any more elaborate detailing, just hit me up

If I have no form of DS, the DSi I would choose. But since I have a DS Lite, I'm not sold on changing over to DSi.

if you want to play gameboy games you keep you advanced or sp period..... so many people are turned off from the dsi becuase there is no gba slot!! if you gameboy lovers just wait a little maybe in the near future we will get virtual handheld on the dsishop i know you all love to have one device for both ds and gba games but we are in 2010 not 2002.

This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare

So that you can use the browser to get onto DSihub. ADVERTISING!!
Oh, and I think that Flipnote could be considered a must have. Who doesn't want a mini animation studio in their pocket?

Just let it happen.

Get a GBA Micro for GBA games.

The DSiWare is brilliant if you have even a passing interest in puzzle games, and there's a few cute toys on there besides for non-puzzle fans. The browser works well, the music player works well as a MP3 player, and the cameras are good enough for Facebook shots.

It's a better package overall than the other DS models.

Of course I'd just wait for the DSi XL - that thing looks beautiful.

geek-master

who does not want portable twitter and facebook, ect?

Yeah...i think sometime i'll go over to gamestop and buy a dsi, that is if i can save my money that long.

Cringing is really fun.

It's better because I have a GBA SP for GBA games and therefore do not need a lite

I would recommend to anyone a DS lite over a DSi if they didn't have wireless Internet. No internet = No Flipnote or any DSiWare-selling points of the DSi. To anyone who has any version of the DS(minus DSi of course) I would say to keep it. The only reason I got a DSi is because my DS "phat" broke. I do have a SP, so I needn't worry about the whole GBA thing(it also plays GB&GBC games). Go out and get a cell phone if you want a camera with the same resolution, and portable Twitter. You can even go anywhere with a cellphone that has internet capabilities, while you can only go to places that have Wi-Fi if you have a DSi. Buy an ipod if you want to listen to music. This is all my opinion, so don't get mad at me!

Overall, I would say the DSi is aimed toward kids(duh), who want to have a camera which they can edit the photos after they take them, a recording device in which they can morph their voices, and a device for playing games all in one. It's obviously not made for professional photographers, or music lovers. So it is your opinion whether the DSi is for you or not.

Btw, the music player is not a MP3 player, it's a MP4 player.

I think it is the DSIware because of how good some of the games are and how worth while they are

1 word: DSiWare. There's actually a heavy volume of great games on it. Yeah sure, it's also got a camera a music player with a mixer, and I think pictochat, as well as Flash Memory,. but none of that compares to a library of exclusive games.
