This is the game I've been looking forward to today, the sequel/expansion to Pop Island which comes at a very reasonable price of 200 points.

If you guys did forget, Paperfield will have new maps, new vehicles and also new characters! Also, you'll get 4 bonus maps if you owned the first Pop Island game!

I'll be doing a special gameplay video later to showcase the new stuff!

Just got it and played through a match. From what I can tell, the 6 I have maps are all-new and stay similar to Pop Island's maps. I have the original btw. The controls have stayed the same, so it's not like you're being thrown into an unfamiliar environment or anything like that. odenis studio really learned how to compress data. Paperfield takes up only 48 blocks, compared to the original's 96. Also, it takes less time to load up the sound than the original. However, I do have some gripes. While the sound takes less time to load, there also appears to be no new sounds in the games. Keep in mind I only played one match. Additionally, there are no new modes to play. Finally, while the Magic Shooters have replaced the Colorful Rainbows, Almost Black returns, meaning there are only 6 new players to unlock.

Ultimately, if you enjoyed the original Pop Island, Paperfield doesn't dissappoint. For only 200 points, Paperfield is definitely worth it, whether or not you have Pop Island and are willing to sacrifice innovation for one of the cheapest multiplayer games on DSiWare or even the DS.

Exactly.

I currently have to maps playable, Hyperion and Titan. I don't really remember any of the courses from the original, though I could always just re-download it onto my DSi ...

I am thinking about picking up both of these, but I have no friends with a dsi to connect with so I will only be single player and the review said it ruins the fun. I am guessing there is no way to play on wifi with other players with this game....

I still find the single-player fun, personally.

I never Got the original Pop Island.
So is Paperfield the same as the last one, "just half the price, or dose it lacks anything that was more fun then the last one.

For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday.

If you were only going to buy one, which should you get? Also, does the download play work with all DS systems or just DSi systems?

All systems!

I'd recommend buying both, personally. But if only one.. I can't say at the moment since I've only played one round (but I'm a huge fan of the original).

I still have two maps to unlock on the original version. The single player of the original is fun but the way they implemented the unlocking makes the game a little tedious. Since this is essentially an expansion pack, I may put this on my "to get later" list and download it after playing some other DSiWare games I am interested in.

Having to unlock everything is such a chore. I bought this to play as the new air vehicles in the new maps, but it looks like I have a lot more points to rack up if I want to do that.

Heh, I'm an unlockable vehicle. And my parents said I'd never amount to anything. LOL.

Plain old gamer :)

KnucklesSonic8

Not just an unlockable, Corbs. But an unlockable jet fighter.

Fixed the quote. Anyway, what I meant is that I wasn't sure if they simply renamed some of the original maps or if they were entirely original. Also, I really don't have anybody to do multiplayer with and I pretty much unlocked everything, so I kinda got bored with the game. Considering the original takes up almost 10% of the DSi's internal memory and I wasn't really playing it, I didn't see the point in keeping it on my system.

That is the one reason I am holding back. Once I beat it in single player it seems like would have the same problem. If it had some Wifi capable teams it would of been an instant download for meez.
