Topic: Pirates/Flashcard Users beware! Nintendo's got their eyes on ya!

Explain to me how having to pay for your own games as opposed to having them gifted to you by family members entitles you to break the law by pirating them instead. Please. I'm dying to know.

im a teenager who choosed this fan site for my news about nintendo's progress i know about 60% of nintendo life is 17-30 year olds who like nintendo becuase they grew up in the 1980's. i respect everyone on nintendo life on the forums i respect there opinions i also like people who respect my freedom of speach. for those of you who are flaming me for bad grammer its ok. also for all my spelling problems you must know that i was diagnosed with ADD and a slite case of autisim when i was just about 3. over the years my education has gotten alot better. also for those of you who did not know i grew up with the N64 so i practiclay started my instrest in nintendo before the 2000's i love to see every new generation grow up with nintendo and then see them give there future kids the nintendo experiance im sorry i have not postted much for hi school eats up lots of time also for the mods at nintendo life i want to thank you for cutting me some slack from the people who reply to my posts with meen replys.

@geek-master I respect others' property and/or opinions as well, and I would never bash anyone on account of bad spelling. That's wrong. I also am for freedom of speech as well.

I think he was just saying that it isn't true that "everyone" will have to buy their own ds games now because many people still have their parents buy their games for them, and this news doesn't change that.

for those of you this will believe it or not it will determine if you get a good job. people will look at your résumé and see if you have ever done anything bad in life. it is not good to hack anything because you are steeling. Also companies cant really make there money if everyone is getting a free copy of it using illegal software. There have been people arrested for this and sewed by companies. This will get you in big trouble even if your very young.

and i think, considering how his previous comment focused more on software piracy via flashcart, how i've already had to delete one of his comments tonight from a different thread because it was entirely uncalled for, and how instead of using general terms he used the direct 'you/your', that he was trying to directly insult MetalMario by insinuating that he's not old enough to buy his own games (or that his parents buy all his games for him), and instead of deleting the insult outright i chose to call him on what he said at face value.

He also used the hypothetical "if".

Obviously I can't see things that you delete, so I can't comment on that. What he said about piracy via flashcart is not incorrect. This doesn't pose a danger to cart users, they should focus on the producers/suppliers, and this won't end piracy. None of these statements imply endorsement of piracy (actually they kinda are anti-piracy since he thinks Ninty should crack down on the people making flashcarts.)

companys just like nintendo are loosing there hard earned money due to piracy. this is why we needed firmware 4.2 on the wii soon

Does Action Reply count as hacking?

@Toon Link: an AR is sold as a cheat code device (much like the Game Genie and GameShark), and on its own does not function as a flashcart (unless they've come out with some new model i haven't heard about). Provided you're not using it to attempt to cheat over wi-fi play, who cares what you do with it? :3

Try as you might to hide it, the companies will still be able to see it on your resumé - that's the magic of MS Word. When they see it you'll get sewed by those companies. Maybe even a cross-stitch.

Regarding piracy and Homebrew, this site should have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell, DON'T INSINUATE". The young people here are too impressionable and think, "oh my godz, alls the games I wantz!"

And if you don't want people knowing you pirate DS games, don't make threads saying, "I gotz Scribblenautz and Bowzerz Insides Story earlyz!"
