Does anyone know if the X copy has a weekness to one of the element chips?

Not as far as I can tell. In the first form, where he keeps switching his own elemental powers, it's possible that his weakness keeps changing too (though I was never quick enough to find out for sure). But in his final form, I think he's equally un-weak to everything.

The ice chip worked for me.

And do you have any tips for that weird Bird Like boss in Megaman Zero 2?

Oh man, I finally kicked his butt, but it's been a while. Always move to stand on those pillars rather than over the lava (you'll see what I mean) when the screen shakes, because the jets that come up are very deadly. When he disappears from the screen, get ready to jump over him. He might not come soaring in from the side, but, if he does, you're ready. When he turns into four clones, dash out from middle. When he appears just above you, don't let him grab you. If he shoots the lasers, watch his pattern; there's always a safe place to stand, but you have to get used to it.

Electricity and Z-Sword finally did it for me...but this was NOT an easy fight. This guy has so many moves, and you need to react to them all in totally different ways. He ain't easy. :/

Thanks! You rock!

After not being able to find this game anywhere, i bought it off Play-Asia for about $40. Then this weekend I was in jb hifi and they are selling it for $25. Not happy. However, I am enjoying the game so far (even though I suck at it).

looks at title ... Are you kidding? The game's great! I don't play too much of it since I get busy, but when I do, I have a blast slicing those Neo Arcadian Mavericks. I'm only Halfway through MMZ2 and 3 With all the EX skills while the first game is finished(sadly at rank E) and daym, the game is brutally punishing for perfectionists.

I may get it, but I'm not expecting much. I bought Megaman X Collection on Gamecube, and only 1 of them was actually good (The first one). The rest were just tedious and monotinous.

I would say that this is definitely worth the money. And thank the lord that there is an Easy Mode...

Mega Man Zero is nothing like Mega Man X. They're two completely different series, with different gameplay and different legacies. Mega Man X was the only good MMX game, to be quite honest. All of the Zero games are great.

So which are considered to be the best and weakest of the Zero games? I'm going to nab my self a copy through Amazon or Ebay in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty damn excited to get my hands on with it. The Boss battles look insanely fun

MM Zero 4 is the best for sure, and I'd say the weakest is either Zero 1 or Zero 2. That's not saying much, though. They're all good in their own ways.

@MickeyMac Zero 1 maybe weakest? Wow, it alone is an amazing game.

I beat the train mission (#3) really really easily after upgrading my weapons a bit. The boss almost didn't hurt me at all whatsoever and I never used a Cyber Elf. That was a few days ago.

The first desert mission (#4) was a different story. Though the level itself was a cakewalk compared to the rest of the game up to that point, I grappled with Anubis Necromancess III for days; finally overcoming him yesterday with nimble acrobatics and friends in high places (I used one health-replenishing elf and a back-up fire one for good measure).

This morning I bested a return trip to the first area of the game (mission #5), a ridiculously powerful boss with low stamina the least of my problems. The hard bit of that mission was escaping a self-destructing area ripped straight out of Metroid; it took me multiple attempts to balance dashing for my life and charging up my saber, because the two cannot be done simultaneously.

Keep in mind I'm not stooping down to Easy Scenario still and I had no idea retries did not replenish themselves after every mission, so I was stuck without any until the latter half of the desert level (there's a Z on the shuttle). I acquired two more lives from random enemies but died before saving, so I still have that one, planning to save it until the last level. I'm feeding the huge hacker elf from the train mission I think slowly but surely, not sparing a crystal.

This all sounds very melodramatic yes, but the game is that good that I want to do justice to Zero's epic quests, be it on these forums or rambling to my mother about them. 9.5/10 and tied with Retro Game Challenge for best game on DS.

Mega Man Zero is a great game, it just also has the fewest amount of features and options, as well as the most strict, making it a lesser game compared to its successors.

CRAP. This dumb level on MMZ2 is killing me. It is that one where you jump from enemy ship to enemy ship. Then you are stuck on a big ship fighting a big mechanical bug like enemy ship. Well if anyone has any advice please feel free to share.

Don't fall.

Sorry, but that's all there is to it. It's a very tough level...or was, until I had to play it a thousand times. I can probably do it in my sleep now. Two other hints: always dash jump to the next ship, and listen for the timing of the shots that the robots are firing at you. you need to time it so that the shot is fired AS you jump, so that you can leap over it and still have room to make it to the next ship.

Regarding the bug, I used the blaster for that fight...I forget what chip. Maybe electric. Charge your shot when he's off-screen, and blast him like crazy with uncharged ones when he's on screen. You can destroy the missiles he shoots at you with buster shots, so definitely do that. When he flies away to drop mini-nukes on you, there's always one place they don't land. I forget where (it's been a while) but watch it and you'll see. I think it's directly beneath where he was before he left the screen...but you'll see if you look for it.

I have lost interest in how hard this game is...

Good thing there's easy mode. If it's anything like the easy modes in any other Capcom game, then you can beat it in your sleep.

Just finished MMZ2. (I took a long break from it, if you couldn't guess...)

It's strange...the main levels of the game were, by and large, tough as nails, but the Neo Arcadia levels were pretty easy. It's possible that by that point I had 3 E-tanks and some extra-health elves working for me, but I think, even so, they were easier, as I didn't use any E-tanks until the boss rush.

Also, the final boss was insaaaanely easy! Maybe there was some backlash to the nearly impossible final boss of MMZ1, but this seemed like too much correction!

Still, a fun game. I'm excited about getting to 3 and 4 now. And after that, I want to do an easy-mode run of the whole series just for the sake of REVENGE.

Another fan of Roahm Mythral? Glad to make your acquaintance. His perfect runs on youtube are incredible.

Shagg is also doing a no-damage run of Mega Man 4 right now which you should check out if you haven't already. They're hilarious.

He starts with Toad Man (naturally):

Grr...stuck on MMZ3...the forest boss in the first batch of bosses. Does this guy not have a weakness? He's brutalizing me! I'm getting frustrated as on each pass through the stage I can't resist picking up all the data discs, and then he pulls down my pants, powders my rear, spanks me, gives me a stern lecture, and sends me to my room to think about what I've done, and I have to do it all over again.

I'm new to the series (have yet to play a Mega Man game), so I'm more intrigued by this 15th anniversary collection Now that's the real way to celebrate an anniversary (stares at nintendo and theirs)

Fuzzy

After being tortured with Mega Man & Bass, I thought I would try the easy mode in this game. It's pretty enjoyable to make quick work of these bosses for a change, especially as the controls are so good.

I would have to say that 3 was my favorite game. How about everybody else?

Megaman and Bass Was the first Classic Game I've finished but not first played. I have fond memories of dying repeatedly to the jet boss at the 2nd Castle, Such Great memories _;. And yeah Megaman zero 3 was the best in the series. The game itself was pretty easy, but unlocking everything? It felt impossible. Reading this post makes me want to play the collection over and over.
